I get so angry about this because Bush is pissing away the efforts of millions of conservatives over many years, including Jim Robinson right here, to convince Americans that conservatism is the best philosophy of government, if he lets this happen. We can't let him do it--it will take another Harriet Miers times 10.

*BINGO* You nailed it. I guess Bush has impeachment on his wish list.

They are going to regret this asinine move until the day they die. Vote them all out of office . . . NOW!

*BINGO* You nailed it. I guess Bush has impeachment on his wish list . . .80% of American Oppose Border Jumpers. By voting to support border jumpers, Congress will be voting against established law. Our national security and national identity is at stake. So I say, "Throw them all out of office!" Advocating that Congress ignore established laws and the wishes of Americans is grounds for impreachment.

Sheesh! Congress wants to give 12 to 15 million (or more?) Mexican citizens the right to vote in our elections. Congress, are you listening? NO citizenship for illegal entrants! No! No! No!

Bush, Frist, and the rest of the Republican posers care only about the needs of the Fortune 500. They couldn't care less if illegal immigration eventually gives the Democratic Party a permanent majority and makes white men slaves. Bush and company will be in the sunset of their lives by then. They couldn't care less about America's future; hell, they think nations themselves are outdated barriers to prosperity. For Bush and his friends, all that matters is the Almighty Dollar.

9. Poor wittle fweeepers...
even so, and no matter how screwed up their thinking is, 'tis pleasing to see them speaking out against their own "leaders" (republican posers--that's a good one). Doing the right thing-tossing them out of office-is welcome even if it's for the wrong reasons, though they need to have an attitude adjustment or they'll replace them with more Rethugs that are just as bad and will do the same thing.

Alas, it's nearly impossible to cure such deeply ingrained delusions--so we may never convert them into rational, caring human beings. So, just laugh at them when you can and take them as an object lesson of just how screwed up a human mind can become.

14. This is my favorite line...
... "They couldn't care less if illegal immigration eventually gives the Democratic Party a permanent majority and makes white men slaves."

Alright, who slipped and gave away our plans to make all white men slaves? Loose lips sink ships people!

Notice that the thought of slavery doesn't seem to be the problem it is the "white men" part that worries them.

Edited on Thu May-11-06 10:36 PM by LaPera
the corporations are all that Bush cares about?

What they don't get is that corporations have the same status & rights as individuals...

Donating, lobbying, (exploiting) to change outcomes of elections and legislated restraints, walking away from people's pensions, dumping workers health insurance, polluting because its cheaper than cleaning up, outsourcing of jobs and offering as little as possible to workers here, destroying the unions the backbone of the middle-class, destroying small businesses, collusion & the monopolies charging as much as they want, paying little or no taxes while having their offshore accounts and filing bankruptcy (which we can't) whenever they please...

18. we've been saying that since day one, and the freeps
just hear God, guns, and gays. I don't want to be cruel, but they really are the saddest lot of underachievers I've ever experienced. They get handed the internet, and this is all they can accomplish - a website dedicated to being yanked around by corporate forces who simply dangle their adolescent nightmares in front of them, and they follow down the primrose path to hell. That is some weakass crap, right there.

Newsflash, freepers: you were sold a lie, and you bought it. Now if you still are hanging on, you are amongst the backwash remains of the wave of fake conservatism that rolled over this country. It has receded, leaving you high and dry. You are welcome on our side, and if anybody tells you otherwise they're full of it. Everybody gets sold a bill of goods now and then, and you guys are vicims just like the rest of us.

You don't even have to remain on our side, just come over for a bit to help rebalance things. I swear to God, the small government system works better when the congress and the presidency are not in the same party, and now is the time to make that happpen. Plus, I think if you watch close you'll see that we are actually the party of smaller gov't. Maybe not as small as you want, but smaller than the repubs. The repubs just keep you scared so you'll vote for more money to go for more wars, but the trick is: their buds make tons of cash off of unnecessary wars, which make us more hated and more likely to be attacked, thereby prompting more military spending, and more profits for their buds. Not for you.

I accept you over here. Nobody needs to hang their head for being gullible. I've been gullible; once a pathological liar convinced me she was being stalked so I would come sleep in her room, and 'keep her safe'. I was an idiot. It happens to the best of us. But there's no use putting good money after bad; those bastards lied to you, and it's time to make them pay. We'll get back to partisan bickering later. Now, it's payback time.

Now we are all calling for his ouster and to vote the bad congresscritters out of office. Simply amazing.

Of course our perceptions of things are vastly different. I think a lot of conservatives (they shy away from calling themselves Republicans now) are worried that immigration reform now on the table will mean 12 million new Democratic voters!:toast:

"...But is is as a cultural and political issue that the border is most threatening to Americans. Suppose that the numbers are right, that there are 12 million illegals in the US right now. If legalized, those people are going to be Democrat voters for at least 3 generations, based on simple demographics. There are enough of them now to sway elections in states that are getting closer, such as Arizona, Nevada, Colorado. They will swell Rat voter rolls in Rat states like California, New Mexico, and as far away as Pennsylvania, Ohio and Louisiana. Even in GOP states, like Texas, they will cause loss of house seats in Districts that are close.

20. Huh! I wonder what makes them think such a thing?
Maybe it's the $3.00+ gas prices while oil companies are reporting record profits? I guess it could be pushing for malpractic suit limitations while HMOs and pharmacueticals are raking in billions. Perhaps it's his buddy Kennyboy still free five years after the collapse of Enron.

Nah!

Bush has always been nothing more than a corporate appeaser. Oh, he throws an occasional bone to his fundy base. But it has always been about his buddies who bought and paid for him.
