The Sources Said The NSA Made Clear That It Was Willing To Pay ....
for the cooperation of the telephone companies in providing the "call-detail records".

Has anyone questioned the amount of the payment? Where the money was coming from? How it is being reflected in the telephone company's financial statements? Is this legal - paying for customer records?

Seem's to me that this is taxpayer's money being used to spy on taxpayers. What I don't get is that the telephone company executives that made the decision to cooperate with the NSA are being spied upon as well.

5. "Where the money was coming from" is a damned interesting question . . .
Edited on Fri May-12-06 02:34 AM by OneBlueSky
that could open the door to the larger world of "black ops" and how they are funded (to the tune of billions and billions) . . .

that they're not telling us the truth about the federal budget is axiomatic at this point . . .

in pursuing The Truth, though, where these kinds of funds come from and who has the authority to disburse them are essential avenues of inquiry that MUST be pursued . . . impartially and vigorously . . .

finding and reporting The Truth is CRITICAL to preserving what's left of our freedom -- and to reclaiming what's been stolen . . .

and promising to pursue THE TRUTH -- no matter where it leads -- is the first thing every prespective Democratic candidate should be saying (i.e. it should be a prerequisite to their name even being considered) . . .
