If a US Nuclear plant had a minor accident, would Bush/Cheney tell us?
Edited on Fri May-12-06 03:31 AM by Up2Late
The reason I ask is this weird weather today in the midwest.

There is a VERY LOW low pressure center over south-eastern Lake Michigan and this thing hasn't moved all day. And by low, I mean the central pressure is lower than some of last years less severe Hurricanes.

Now I know what you are thinking, the water is too cold to feed a Hurricane over Southern Lake Michigan, but here's the thing, it's centered over right near where the Cook Nuclear plant is, and where the Cook Plant discharges it hot water back into Lake Michigan.

I'm not saying this is possible, because I don't know it is, but what if the plant was near melt down, and the plant was discharging massive amounts of super heated water back into the lake?

Would Bush tell us? Or would he head to Florida, like he did today?

If you want to see what I'm talking about, in regards to the weather, check out this link: <http://www.crownweather.com/tropical.html>

To best see what I'm talking about, scroll down to the Colorful wind charts that says

"Current Atlantic 700-850 mb Mean Wind Analysis (TC Sfc Pressure Range 1000-1010 mbs)
Courtesy of CIMSS Tropical Cyclones" And the other 5 or 6 similar charts.

Below is another site with very good graphics that show what I was looking at: <http://www.storm2k.org/wx/>

Note: the above graphics are live and self-updating, so the weather pattern may have changed by the time you see this.

1. It's come to the point that I don't think he would
The entire Bush regime reminds me more and more of the old Soviet Union.

Lies, going into denial, secrecy, denial of the obvious, pulling all government functions into a massive central bureaucracy, stifling innovation, stifling free press and free discourse, advancement based on who you know and if you know where the bodies are buried.... and did I mention the incompetence?

It just goes on and on.

I don't want to believe that your weather system is anything more than what it looks like: freak weather. On the other hand, Bush has this way of going into denial, and when that doesn't work, angrily denying the obvious in hopes no one else will notice that the dikes have broken.

Not very comforting. We're both up too late. Here's to a sunny day for you tomorrow.

6. Yes I know that, but would they force those who ARE supposed to...
...tell us, force them to tell us, or would they help to cover up a problem?

I do think they would help cover it up, especially with Cheney and Bush pushing the "clean energy" of new Nuke plants.

8. I honestly don't think they could if they tried.
Mind you, I don't put it past them to try, but there would simply be too many people at various levels to keep quiet. I also think it's a mistake to think that bush and cheney would know more than the people intimately involved.

4. Our gov't will tell us nothing about a nuclear accident until they have to
Ever. Look at 3 Mile Island. First of all, the PA gov't kept things under wrap as long as possible. Then everything got fix and life went on. But years later it was learned there was a partial meltdown.

And then there is Chernobyl. Our gov't said not to worry about anything in the USA. We don't have any nuclear plants like that. The MSM dutifully complied with that story except for CNN. This is back int he good old days when CNN reported real news. CNN had a segment about yes, we do have those types of nuclear plants. 5 of them to be exact and they are all owned by the US gov't.

5. There are 104 nuclear power plants in the U.S.
So the odds of it being just a coincidence are pretty good.
Also, I don't think a nuclear power plant could generate enough heat to affect the weather like that.
And no, Bush/Cheney would not tell us if there was a problem at a nuke plant.

7. There was a minor accident a few days ago.
Some plant released some tritium. Exposed several workers to unacceptable levels of radiation. About as much as a dental x-ray.

It was in LBN.

10. Exactly what I'm thinking, The Weather Channel just called it...
...an "upper level Low," but it looks more like a tropical storm, except that they wouldn't call it that because it so far north.

Of course this white house might just be arrogant enough to believe that they could cover that up somehow.
