Check this out ... the RNCC is SCARED about the fall
This e-mail just came in from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee

Subject : FW: Confident Democrats Lay Out Agenda

Dear XXX,

"The threat of the Democrats taking the majority in the House this November is very real."

That's the message that our Republican counterpart, the NRCC, sent to their supporters yesterday after Democrats went public with our agenda.

They're terrified -- terrified that their stranglehold on power will be broken, and terrified of Democrats reversing their corrupt, right-wing policies. They're terrified that when Democrats take over we'll raise the minimum wage; allow Medicare to bargain for lower prescription drugs prices for our seniors; reinstate rules demanding that new spending and tax cuts be accounted for and offset in the budget; cut in half the interest rates on student loans; and implement all the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission.

I just had to share this email with you.

Democrats across the country are surging, but they need your help. The iron's hot, and with less than six months left it's time to strike. Support the DCCC today and make sure our Democratic House candidates win in November

We need your help now to keep up our momentum and fund our candidates so they can continue to fight on the battlefield across the country.

Help us keep the Republicans running scared straight through November, Contribute to the DCCC right now.

Sincerely,

Karin Johanson
Executive Director, DCCC

Re: Washington Post Article, "Confident Democrats Lay Out Agenda"

This past weekend, the Washington Post printed an article about the potential and hopeful plans set forth by the Democrats if they win the House majority in November. "Democratic leaders, increasingly confident they will seize control of the House in November, are laying plans for a legislative blitz during their first week in power..." Although the Democrats have claimed to have had a plan for months, little has been made public until now.

The threat of the Democrats taking the majority in the House this November is very real. As the Democrats gain momentum, they have the ability to misinform the public. As Republicans, we have to make sure voters are aware of what will happen to taxes, medicare and national security if the Democrats win the majority. Please help to support the NRCC and prevent the Democrats' plans from becoming a reality by going to this link today. Please forward this message to friends and families and support the NRCC today.

Confident Democrats Lay Out Agenda
Party Plans Probes Of Administration If It Wins the House

Democratic leaders, increasingly confident they will seize control of the House in November, are laying plans for a legislative blitz during their first week in power that would raise the minimum wage, roll back parts of the Republican prescription drug law, implement homeland security measures and reinstate lapsed budget deficit controls.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) said in an interview last week that a Democratic House would launch a series of investigations of the Bush administration, beginning with the White House's first-term energy task force and probably including the use of intelligence in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq. Pelosi denied Republican allegations that a Democratic House would move quickly to impeach President Bush. But, she said of the planned investigations, "You never know where it leads to."

In recent days, Democratic confidence has been buoyed by a series of polls indicating that not only is Bush growing increasingly unpopular, so are Republicans in Congress. An Associated Press-Ipsos poll released Friday found that 33 percent of the public approves of Bush's job performance, the lowest rating of his presidency. And only 25 percent approves of the job Congress is doing, a figure comparable to congressional approval ratings before the 1994 elections that swept Republicans to power.

The AP-Ipsos poll found that 51 percent of Americans say they want Democrats rather than Republicans to control Congress. Only 34 percent favor Republican control.

6. They may or may not be worried about November but...
... you can't tell by this letter.

It is well within their interests that their supporters think a Dem takeover is possible. Without that fear many may not work, conribute and vote to keep Repubs in office.

They may just be whipping up their troops.

I think our side could use a little more fear.

7. That is true, but regardless, if the numbers didn't really suggest
that there was a chance that the dems would take back the House or Senate (both?) in the fall, they wouldn't send out this message. Plus, given that DeLay resigned, there is a new scandal in the news everyday and the momentum is in the dems direction, it doesn't look good for the RNCC.

13. They've scared of us getting revenge
And holding the many investigations into their crimes that are long overdue. They're scared of that more than our policies, in my opinion. As to the rank-and-file Republicans, a recent survey showed that 1/3 of them want their own party to LOSE congress. It's more the people in power who are truly scared.

Here's the telling part of his whining:

Heavens, are we doing a little projecting here? Sounds to me like he's saying the party in power gets to tell the lies.
