Bubba giving up his bed, etc etc etc

Given junior's behavor, it's downright sickening.

1. Why does Clinton embrace the people who tried to destroy him?
Interesting question.

16. I think his behavior shows TRUE Christian values at work
I've said it before here on DU and I'll say it again.

I think the way Clinton treats Poppy, shows his true Christian values at work.

Clinton was called everything but a child of God by those on the right.

And if he wanted to, he'd have every right to be a bitter, angry man.

Yet, you see no trace of that. They were not able to break his spirit.

And he's doing exactly what Matthew 5:44 says:

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you."

25. Pappa Bush never once spoke badly about Clinton
during the Impeachment hearings. I think that's part of the reason Clinton holds nothing against him.

Besides, Clinton is smart enough to know that his wife may be President one day, and he knows how to play the game.......

But I'm betting GW Senior wishes Big Dog was his real son instead of the hellspawn he created.

it probably drives Junior nuts. Little George has spent his entire life trying to impress his old man -- and Poppy still likes the dreaded Bill Clinton better!

In his father's eyes, he doesn't even measure up to the man his own hard right wing reviles more than anyone else in the world. Junior is the black hole of failures.

8. No, I don't care
Supposedly Baby Bush is not real happy about it either.

And the Freepers aren't all that pleased about it either.

We have bigger fish to fry. Clinton and Bush Sr. are yesterday. We need to worry about today and tomorrow.

And I'm always into that.

It also provides a side-by-side comparison with an inference to a comparison to Junior. 68% of those polled recently said they'd prefer Bill Clinton over the incumbent.

23. I think it is funny - the Bushbots are turning to the Big Dog for help
in making the clan appear human...or at least human-like. Bush41 can't appear in unscreened audiences without the Big Dog - he would be booed off the stage. By being in the same forum as Clinton he is allowed the radiant glow you get from the love and admiration of Clinton without facing the protesters that would show up if he came alone.

Freepers are probably going insane over all of this but I think 41 is trying to ride Clinton's popularity and is the only reason 41 hangs with Bill. Clinton certainly doesn't need the likes of a doddering old fool who has spawned this generation's Hitler around but being the Christian man that he is he actually tries to live Christ's teachings and not just piously mouth off about them when it is convenient.

And that is pisses Babs, Pickles and Chucklesnuts off is just a bonus.

28. Democrat 4 ever...your post is the only one in this thread that I totally
agree with. When I watched the news clip of the two of them at the commencement I thought the very same thing! Bush Sr wouldn't have been able to get five words out before being booed off the stage.

How do I like this chumminess of the two of them? I hate it and I no lon ger admire Clinton the way I used to.

27. I actually like this twosome (Bubba and Bush)
Bill is the son Bush wish he had, and we all know that Bill didn't have a father. I like that they can relate to each other and I think the relationship is good for both of them.

Dems should get over this resentment. These two ex-presidents are good together and together do some good.

They have crossed the political divide to do some good for a lot of people. I heard last night that they have raised over 130 million dollars for the Katrina relief funds. They have moved past the politics of yesteryear and are looking at today and the future.

31. Something stinks here
upon taking office, Clinton found evidence of unimaginable corruption by king george the first. Clinton chose not to prosecute it either to avoid a divisive battle that would have further erodedpublic confidence in government or to focus on moving his health care agenda forward, depending on who you want to believe.

How can he now just overlook that. He knows all about Iran Contra, BCCI, at least $9 trillion of financial impropriety and probably worse.

33. It highlights the difference between our president
who brought prosperity to all and the current one who brought it only to his pals and supporters. Who ran on a platform of "restoring" - whatever - to the White House and who now, according to a recent poll, trails Clinton even in trustworthiness.

Remember "sleek Bill?"

It shows both as "elder statesmen" and should help us in our 2008 campaign to bring back the years of peace and prosperity under the last Democratic president, whose sole lapse was cheating on his wife. We should not hide this, we should run with this to show the absurdity and the hateful Republicans.

34. Trying to figure out how I feel.
I think that all the Democrats and some Republicans are going to start trying to mend some fences. I think it will be hard to accept. I don't feel comfortable seeing them together, but I think we are going to see more politicians doing such things.

I think more of them will start talking to audiences they have not talked to before, and their bases will not feel comfortable. I think they will not do a good job at first, but it is going to happen.

Just a feeling.
