1. Had to say "other" because it's the combined triple-crown of corruption
(Executive, Legislative, and Judicial) that drives all the other problems.

15. Agreed....
The other issues would be workable, if not solvable, if corruption was the exception rather than the policy.

6. The influence of money in politics
It will be hard to have any progress until government is taken away from the special interests and given back to the people.

7. Obedience is the problem.
Look, America, we need to talk. You haven't been doing so good lately. And you can't blame the management, either. Sure, I admit it, the management is TERRIBLE. But who's empowering them? You are. You've just stood by and condoned, turned a blind eye to, and even supported the most blatant acts of inhumanity. Fire the boss, get your act together, take some responsibility and start looking out for each other, or I'm going to have to let you go. You're just not that much of an asset to Freedom Co. anymore. Nothing personal, you understand.

8. Lack of concern for the poor
The biggest issue out there that nobody is tackeling. I'd say Global Warming and Poverty should be right at the top of the list.

9. I voted for other...they all are connected so...all above...
It's disappointing that you didn't have "all of the above" option...

We will never know who we vote for if there isn't paper ballots and freedom dies with this simple fact.

I do believe that the corruption we are now witnessing is a direct result due to the false election of our representatives.

I have a dream...okay maybe it's a fantasy...but...when/if Bush is impeached and the House and Senate leaders go down with him, that all the laws and Judicial appointments made by their "illegal" occupancy of the positions they held are resinded...

I don't know if it could float...without a revolution...

O8)

Think of this...if it is revealed that our elections were rigged, then what happens? All the "elected officials" acts would/could then be considered illegal...they didn't actually have any authority "as an elected official"...right?

But then we would truly need an independent Court System with Judges who do not have political motives or biased beliefs.

Most important:

— the bad economy/lack of jobs

— lack of universal healthcare.

12. unverifiable electronic voting is the MOST IMPORTANT THING
Nothing else matters if the basic mechanism of our mandate is not safe. We've already had elections stolen by this and with just a few more cycles going like that, the judiciary's going to be packed with monarchist thugs to such a degree that it'll take decades to return to anything like pluralism.

Just look at what's been happening to the dollar lately, our economy is in shambles. As Big Dog said "It's the economy stupid!"

14. The apparent control of every facet of the American experience
by a small group of very powerful, generally multinational, corporations. They tell you what to think on TV, they count your votes, they decide what's a good enough life for you, they tell your representatives how to vote... hell, they appear to even have a firm grip on many religious institutions at this point.

18. I chose..
The first option, widespread corruption. It directly affects all of the other choices. The war in Iraq was not specifically given, but I think that is very important as well. It needs to stop now. Of course conduct of the war and the way the military is being run is also riddled with corruption and profiteering. It makes an already terrible situation so much worse.
