Why should Democratic politicians or the American people listen to the MSM
When the story broke that Bush and the NSA were spying on tens of millions of Americans, the media rush to discount it or to minimize the story. They take polls to see how many people agree or disagree with the illegal eavesdropping. Then they excuse it all by saying that we are "at war".

Unfortunately, many Democratic politicians do not challenge their positions. So, in effect, they agree by default to not challenge the illegal wiretapping or eavesdropping. Because they are overly influenced by the MSM? Perhaps?

We used to think we would lose our freedom in small increments at a time. However, with this latest revelation, we are losing our freedom by giant leaps at a time. The least the people should expect is the truth. Why surrender on the good faith of the Bush White House. The American people are fools to trust these folks.

1. A fool to trust anyone or any source it seems
that makes it a bit difficult to know whats going on in the world. I think you have to start somewhere but perform due dilligence as to the sources and correct interpretation. I for one don't believe everything I read outside of the main stream media either.

2. But if it quacks like a duck...?
And on the face of it, this looks like a clear violation of the FCC and law that prohibits domestic spying. The very least we should expect is an investigation to find the truth. We should not trust the media or the Bush White House.

3. Once more, I guess some people aren't watching the same TV I am.
I saw Keith Olbermann the other night saying (and looking quite angry), "Memo to the Bush Administration: '1984' was NOT a HOW-TO MANUAL!"

How does this constitute the entire MSM collectively rolling over, playing dead and supporting NSA spying?

You guys have to change the channel. There's MSM out there who are as outraged as we are. You're just not looking in the right place.

5. You have a point. If they go with what a blogger says and it turns out
false or inaccurate as to time, they have egg on their faces and will be accused of being Dan Rathers. If they have heard lots of rumors but don't feel comfortable going with them yet and want to wait for confirmation from Fitz, they're accused of being lazy and not doing their jobs. Can't win for losing.
