Well knock me over with a feather! Tammy Duckworth on MSNBC
No matter what you think of this woman and her candidacy, kudos to MSNBC for giving her a spotlight and some favorable coverage.

The coverage was on Olberman and narrated by ::::gasp::::: Nora O'Donnell.

Hey Nora, was this, for you, a story your 'producers are forcing you to cover'?

Or did you just draw the short straw?

Nice job on keeping that stupid grin on your facist little face, by the way. :)

2. Saw it too, and it was good coverage of a Democrat running in GOP
territory. They didn't even mention her opponent...which means, a seat for us, if this continue.

on the other hand, "average Joe" Former Republican Representative and Operative Scaroborough had a line up of "Journalists/Strategist" all yuk-yuking repeating the talking point lie that Democrats have no plans...and dropping the names of Pelosi and Rangel as boogiemen to try and "scare" everybody. :eyes:

That was really a sad display to see...with Craig Crawford participating and some "never seen before" "Democratic" "ex" Clinton Aide blond short haired cute chick nodding in agreement with all of the GOP talking points....and who, for whatever reason, reminds me of our dear DNC Chairman, Howard Dean, but doesn't talk as though she's really a Democrat, IMO.

3. Yeah, Scarborough had Terry Holt on who talked about "no plan"
Democrats.

However, Scarborough's intro made some good points, as he finished with Crawford---maybe Democrats could coalesce around 3 or 4 points so people can have a clear sense of the positive energy of Democrats, instead of hoping for the Repugs to totally implode on their own. I'm a firm believer in giving them a nudge...we really have to do it, because if we do win a house, we have to hit the ground running and look like LEADERS.

Holt said that it took 4 and a half years to issue a statement on National Security. We can't afford to look that lame on everything, including the domestic issues that are our natural strengths.

4. I don't buy the "No Plan Democrat" Republican Strategy.....
Edited on Wed May-17-06 09:01 PM by FrenchieCat
talking points.....I don't think that most Democrats just "Hoping" that Republicans will implode....(see my journal)

I think that Dean, Durbin, Schumer, Clark, Kerry, are attacking and putting out plans...and I think we are just a short way away from the dems announcing a strong domestic agenda......(they do still have a bit of time) as we are still six month away from elections.

The question is whether they can get a mouthpiece and platform for their ideas on energy independence, National Security Agenda, balance budget, Fair trade, Congressional Checks and Balance....and whatever else they come up with? Their biggest handicap is that they have no real national organ to dissiminate their plans out to the masses, and therefore, are kept captive by the media...who seem to still enjoy working as operative mouthpieces for the GOP.
