Starry-eyed optimists beware.
We’ve been hearing a lot of optimistic talk here in the
blogasphere, and on Air America, about the Dem’s taking the
House and the Senate in November. You’ll also here it
mentioned on cable news talk shows—in fact it was mentioned on
Scarborough Country tonight. Yes, it can be done, but my
biggest fear is that too many people will come to believe that
it’s a given—that it won’t be a fight. I know most of the
people reading this would swim through a pool of sharks naked
and bleeding to get to the poll’s but we’re not ‘most people’.
The average American will need a little cattle prodding.
There’s another thing we need to consider—okay I’m a cynical
bastard but there’s one fact that I haven’t heard mentioned at
all: Bush delivered—fucking big time delivered. This circus
chimp we have in the White House put 2 not 1 but 2 Christian
fascists in the Supreme Court and the freaks who where pleased
with that will be reminded. I know the decider’s poll numbers
are in the shiter but Rove will not let these troglodytes,
these bible thumping morons, forget. Forget hell. This is
something these freaks have been dreaming about for
years—along with the rapture of course, and the campaign to
get them out in November will be enormous.
I’m not trying to take a dump in our party’s punch bowl but a
little sobering up might be in order—not that I’m all that
sober but...
