Way above the minutaue is, WAR & PEACE. Either we Embrace One or the OTHER
In Peace we get:

Prosperity, Stability, Sanity, Reason, Profits, Advancements, Sweeter Fruits, etc etc

*****************************************************************************************

In War we get all Negatives:

Waste, Destruction, Loss of Life, Lost Opportunities to do GOOD, Misery, Pain, etc

******************************************************************************************

Under Peace: China has moved from a backward Nation to an Industrial Giant...She has prospered to the point of LOANING monies to AMERICA...

Read THE IRON ROOSTER by Paul Thereau...a visit to China before the borders were opened...In some regions, they were pulling plows with HUMANS....no tractors, no animals....They were a poor lot.

The Leadsership in China may not be the best but look to her results...Stability and Prosperity...she is so rich, she shops the World for OIL...upping the oil ante...and, she is getting richer by the day while we sink deeper in debt to the Company Store

Instead of a deficit...she has Credits/Profits....

*****************************************************************************************

Our Leadership under the PUBs have given us heartaches and poverty....Bush is maxxing that during his 6 years like its INTENTIONAL

WTF?

What is it that Americans Want?? WAR or PEACE

1. well, BushCo and the PNAC have certainly made their choice . . .
and unfortunately they're calling all the shots right now . . .

the best way to choose Peace is to elect candidates committed to it . . . and oust those who have supported and/or facilitated the BushCo war agenda . . . even if they're "progressive" on other issues . . .

thanks for the post . . . recommended . . .

3. American economy
since WWII is a "war economy", largest portion of Fed. budget goes to Military-Industrial Complex. Unless and until that changes, nothing else will change. America = War. No money to be made in peace, but plenty in building bigger and better bombs to kill more and more of "them people".

4. Peace will give us untold WEALTH, PROFITS, ADVANCEMENTS
Far far more than the:

War Economy :: ONLY good for those in the MIL INDUST COMPLX and a few others...the rest of us will suffer as we do now...Homelessness up, Good jobs down, etc etc

Peace: We Tried Everything Else

8. I don't doubt you
I was just stating the obvious, and the mindset of those in power. I want a peace economy as well.

Those who live by the sword will die by the sword.

Nam mo Amida Buddha.

5. Peace my friend
if we could let every american vote right now, including the immigrants, all residents of the US voted... it would be 85% for peace.

after all, most people know what helps them to survive and what contributes to their early expiration..

Peace my friend. Peace is the only way.

if only the voices of all Americans could be heard.

i think that is a myth of the war economy. i think choosing to be good at other industrial areas has been China's success and they have not used a war economy to get into a place of being able to loan the US billions...

6. We have ignorant Leaders who think of themselves more than the Nation
Rather astounding in this day and age...considering the many books/concepts/theories re this subject of Social Behavior...

It appears we are in an old mode...a contentious now, etc, but its now in a flux, shifting from one form to the next. Head Hegel.

The Hegelian Dialectic if I may....something just posted here in the DU.

We are finding out this mode does not deliver what it says it will, hence Bushies failures...the House of Cards thingy...

Changes are coming...a part of CONSTANT CHANGE

We need a change for PEACE

7. i'm charmed OPI
by your philosophical perspective and loved your tag line..

is your username hawaiian?

do americans understand the philosophical underpinnings of Germany allowed the masses to passively accept hitler's rise.. what philosopher is responsible for the passive American allowance of a fascist regime to rise? or the philosopher a trip to walmart instead, symbolic of how americans shop, rather than read....
