What I think "messed up" the Jason Leopold article.

Right after Jason wrote his article, the info came out on Cheney writing in the margins of the NY Post article by Joe Wilson. I think this hampered Fitz's investigation. I think Fitz is now out for an bigger fish. Cast the net! Rove, Cheney and well you know who. I am not trying to make excuses for Jason....just what I thnk

I keep having this waking nightmare that somehow BushCo figured out how to blackmail Fitz.

We'll eventually find out what happened with Leopold's story and sources. My bet is that his article is genuine, but like you said the big picture has changed in the past week.

2. Em, the article said that Rove has already been indicted.

And was given 24 hours (business hours!) to clear out. You don't get to "take back" indictments, and lest you forget, it was Fitzgerald himself who revealed the Cheney notes in one of his filings -- so it wasn't a surprise to him.

There's really a much simpler explanation for what "messed up" the Leopold story.

Maybe he has "cleared out" under the radar.

Edit: Looks like the 15th was the last day he was photographed.

7. No new pictures of him

in Yahoo's gallery since 05/15/06 at AEI. On the 17th he made a visit to the Hill to push the immigration distraction.

So 2 full days without a Rove sighting? Worth keeping an eye on.

we don't know who was right and who was wrong.

8. I gave up on this story being true days ago.

There are plenty of things I would LIKE to be true. Hell, there are things I would do backflips for if they were true. But what I want to be true and what logic tells me is true are two different things. Even Truthout is backtracking on this one, not a good sign at all.
