1. Blair couldn't respond to the twit.....
He was absolutely stunned by that remark and said (joking, I think?) something "I better not respond to that".

I found the exchange:
******
``My attitude is I want him to be here so long as I'm the president,'' Bush said at a press conference with Blair in the White House last night. ``Don't count him out.''

``Well, what more can I say?'' Blair said. ``It's probably not wise to say anything more at all.''

Bush's presidency ends in January, 2008; the next U.K. election must be held by mid-2010.
**********

The article does state that Blair is in political trouble, so maybe he didn't WANT a BUSH endorsement?

2. Tony Blair's role in history
will be as George W. Bush's Man, Friday. I think it will be safe to say the next few PM's of Great Britian will be seen as close to DC

8. He'd better send over a few hundred Diebold voting machines soon....
doesn't sound like Blair has all that much support, even from his own party anymore.

"Hey, Tony, the fix is in... the Diebolds are on the way!"
