Why wouldn't the investigation include Hastert?

Does it make any sense that a probe into the system of corruption and moneylaundering set up by the Majority Leader (Delay) and a big time Republican lobbyist (Abramoff) would NOT include, at least look into, the Republican Speaker of the House?

Does it make any sense not to look into whether or not he was involved or if any of the money got to him, his PAC, or to him through other PACs?

The answer is clearly NO. Of course they are looking into him. The DoJ either lied yesterday OR they aren't doing what could reasonably called a full investigation.

Please tell me I am not the only person who sees this.

A police agency will no more answer the question whether or not someone is being investigated honestly than they will answer honestly a query whether or not a warrant is out on someone.

It is worth mentioning, too, that Hastert is an ornament of one of the most corrupt Repiblican organizations in the country, namely that in Illinois, where the former Republican givernor has just been convicted on chsrges spanning many years of bribery and malfeasance.
