US Senate race poll
Edited on Fri May-26-06 01:04 PM by ticapnews

Earlier today Olympia Snowe was down to 46%. She is now back over 50%. Jean and Eric are the Democratic candidates (primary June 13).

It would be great if the Press Herald printed results on Monday that showed Snowe's support below 50%. Please vote. And tell your friends!

5. I did
I imagine it sounded better on the radio today than it looked on TV last night. The lighting was horrible.

I think the debate went well. Both candidates have articulated sharp divisions with Olympia's voting record. Eric is certainly a polished speaker, which I would expect from a lawyer ;) I believe Jean will make a better opponent to Olympia because she will reach out to a lot of women (like my mother) who have voted for Olympia in the past. In 2000, 40% of Gore voters crossed over and voted for Snowe (then crossed back and voted for Allen or Baldacci). Most of those were women, probably unenrolled or Democrats, who believe Olympia to be a moderate.

They both have worthy experience, in very different backgrounds. The one knock I have against Eric is that every time he mentions that he worked for Kerry in Ohio in '04 to prevent election fraud, I keep thinking, "That's where the election was stolen."

I think it comes down to educating Democrats about Olympia's real record. If we are able to do that, we win in November. If we can't break through that moderate facade she's built up, we lose.

2. I voted
Just thought the poll is not fair as there are two Dems to split the vote between, and only on Repug.

Once a Dem contender is picked, I'll bet a similar poll will look much better!

7. A question to the troll who posted at the Press Herald

This poll has been posted on the radically liberal website, Democratic Underground, with directions for skewing. The site is a collection of aging hippies, burned out druggies and basement dwelling radicals who try to sway online polls and are then stupid enough to believe the results.

My question would be, if this site is a collection of such horrible people, WHY ARE YOU HERE?
