Angelides and Westly basically say nothing at their web sites. Angelides is a Dem insider in the Davis mold, not bad, just a player, if you know what I mean. Westly is a tech millionaire with some pretty good statements on the environment. Both support capital punishment. But Michael Strimling...

Michael Strimling would tax the frigging mega-corporations who own vast areas of way undertaxed California property and are the REAL beneficiaries of Prop 13. He supports universal health care. He opposes capital punishment. He opposes 3-strikes for non-violent crime. He would bring Calif Nat'l Guard back from Iraq. Like that. He is a REAL leftist. He provides intelligent, well-thought out positions on all the things we care about. He's a real leader, as opposed to the frontrunner corporate/Dem packages who are intelligent, competent people, but lack...what is it? Chutzpah, heart, solid analysis of policy, tough thinking? They've got the bucks. Strimling doesn't. So he can't win. Don't let money entirely determine Dem policy! Vote for an independent thinker who supports REAL change!

Now's your chance to influence the direction of the party, and promote the strong character that you would like it to have: In the Primary! There is no question that Angelides or Westly would be better than Schwarzenegger, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Don't we want something FAR BETTER? Vote to send these two a message: STAND for something! Be bold! Go left--to the real mainstream! Represent the PEOPLE, not just your big donors! Lead with real reform!

This is Strimling's stated purpose--to light a fire under the established Dems. Isn't that what we want? Frankly, his web site brought tears to my eyes, it's so much of what we want and can't seem to get. VOTE FOR STRIMLING!
