Lieberman walks with Republican Nancy Johnson in Waterbury parade
Edited on Mon May-29-06 06:49 AM by Larkspur

Are they discussing his possible Independent run?

Ned Lamont walks with his family and supporters

2. Let the voters deal with Lieberman
If he antagonizes his own constituency enough, he will be ousted. I dare him to do that.

3. Great post!
The picture of Joe and Nancy sure says it all. I hope that Ned finds a way to spread it far and wide. Glad you're doing your part.

4. He just can't resist an opportunity to legitimize & enable
Republicans.

One of about a half a dozen poster children for what's wrong with the Democratic party- and why they've lost 6 straight congressional elections.

10. Yeah, that's why I cooked up a bullshit thread about
Lamont marching in the same Memorial Day parade with a Republican....(snicker)

"U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman gets a 59 - 29 percent approval, compared to 63 - 25 percent February 16. In a possible Democratic primary, the incumbent beats businessman Ned Lamont 65 - 19 percent, with most Lamont supporters saying they are voting against Lieberman. ...Most Connecticut voters, 57 percent, know Lieberman supports the war in Iraq, but only 15 percent would vote against a candidate based only on his position on the war. 13. Polls change
When Ned Lamont started his campaign back in January 2006, no one thought he'd get enough delegates at the CT Dem convention to secure a spot on the Democratic Primary ballot. He needed 15% of the delegates, about 240. Since March 13, when Ned Lamont officially launched his campaign, he visited over 50 DTC's. That hustle and effort paid off for Lamont, who received 33.4% of the delegates (that's over twice what he needed to secure a spot on the primary ballot). His showing stunned the Lieberman campaign and was a exciting surprise to us Lamont supporters, who thought at best Lamont would get 20-25% of the delegate vote.

Now that his spot on the primary ballot is secure, Lamont can now spend more time making his case to all CT Dems, not just the DTC's and political junkies.

Lamont also has a 7% name recognition rate and the Quinnipiac poll reflects that. As more people get to meet and know Ned Lamont, the polls will change in Lamont's favor.

20. And now the Republicans think they got a shot at the seat
Good job by the far left (snicker).

But then it takes a real disconnect from reality to pretend that getting beat two to one is a triumph.

Lamont wins the primary, and I hope he does, he will sail to an easy win. The blue in CT is popping in a big way. We were already a progressive leaning state but, now with more and more coming to their senses Lamont would have the senate seat with out a problem!

32. She is beatable but she just rolls with the punches. I find it more
disturbing that Joe has done very little for the state a state that supported him fully in 2000. But when Joe stands up at a dinner for Sen. McCain in NY and basically endorses him for pres. in 08, I start to think. And to this day Joe thinks a preemptive war that has killed 10,000 + people is a good idea I definitely stop and say, Not for me, not in my name!!

26. If Lieberman wasn't so disconnected from reality, he would not be facing a
primary. If Lieberman wasn't a willing shill for the Bush Admin's bad policies and bad picks for SCOTUS and government agencies, like FEMA, he would not be facing a primary.

Lieberman created the will power among progressives to force a primary. All we progressives had to do was find a credible candidate and we got one in Ned Lamont.

"Other reports from the scene indicate that Joe's handlers got testy about Joe and party being photographed. Funny. Joe's oppo research goons cover and tape every Lamont appearance. Seems our thin-skinned junior Senator can dish it out but can't take it....

"Lamont had the class to approach Lieberman and offer greetings. Lieberman had the lack of class to avoid looking him in the eye....

"Someone asked the Lieberman people passing out campaign swag how much they were being paid. The answer: "Enough." What was Joe saying about buying the election again?

"How can Joe's handlers object to taking pictures at a PHOTO OP?!? (0.00 / 0)
How about they start parading Lieberman around in a Pope-mobile (with darkly tinted windows, of course). If you don't want people taking pictures, stay home.
It's gotta be frustrating to be a Lieber-bot these days...

27. Why wasn't Lieberman marching with Chris Murphy, the democrat
challenging Nancy Johnson?

If Lieberman is suppose to be such a good lead at the top of the Dem ticket, shouldn't he be marching with his fellow Democratic candidates?

16. This is probably what they were discussing:
Johnson: "...and wasn't it great when President Bush strode around the deck of the aircraft carrier in that flight suit?"

Lieberman: "Ooooh. It was sooo manly. All Americans should support the manliness of our Commander In Chief's crotch. I know I do."
