Peter King (R) New York - Freaks Out on Hardball -
Well Pete is pissed.
Don't piss off a New Yorker.
I know that.
I'm FROM New York.
We'll pull a knife on you.
Break a beer bottle on a fire hydrant and go to work on you.
New Yorkers, the hard core that live in the other four boroughs, will kick your ass.
I'm one of them.

"As far as I'm concerned, the Department of Homeland Security and the administration have declared war on New York," said Rep. Peter King (R-L.I.), chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.

"It's a knife in the back to New York and I'm going to do everything I can to make them very sorry they made this decision."

King said he would launch "rigorous investigations" of the Homeland Security Department - including a $21 million DHS contract with a Virginia limousine service accused of arranging hotel trysts between lawmakers and prostitutes.

"They have cut $80 million in funding to New York City," King said. "Meanwhile, they gave a $21 million limousine contract to the company that was driving pimps and prostitutes around."

My boy John Avarosis at Americablog.com says that King is a water-boy, and anything that he does going forward will just be going through the motions.

I think King is pissed and he's ready to light someones ass up.

Am I wrong?
Is this, the 40% cut for terrorism funding in New York, a big Monkey "Fuck You" to a city that HATES his simian ass?

Educate me.

Blues so BushCo can get more support. It is part of the KKKarl Rove/Grover Norquist plan, and it seems to be working perfectly. Divide and conquer.
Pit them against each other, fighting for the crumbs, who deserves more, and see who can be nastier about the other, get them to hate each other more, and not unite against the common enemy in DC!!!

So guess who the only winner is? It sure ain't the voters!!!

7. Sadly, that's what I figured.
God forbid someone stand up, and actually fight for the people who pay their way.
I was hoping King wasn't a complete Republican asswipe.
I guess I've been living in Kansas too long.

Any REAL New Yorker would be looking to open an artery.
Whore.

Fuck BUSH and all of his boys.

10. Don't forget Wyoming and some other highly unlikely places
for terra-ists to be hitting. We can fund every crossroads in America but we can't survey cargo or fully fund the FAA.

8. Native Brooklynite here!
And the list you've outlined (of things NYers will do when they're pissed off at someone) is dead on the money.

And King knows it. Imagine what would happen, at the hands of his constitiuents, if he DOESN'T take this fight on and see it through?

I think he's genuinely mad - but so are a lot of Repubs who just swallow this crap for the sake of unity of the party, and support of the president.

In this case, however, I don't think King has a choice. If he backs down or backs off, it's political suicide, New York style.

17. Which explains the grandstanding ..... but what's not explained is the
anticipated resolution ..... the money will get to NYC. The party line is "Because Peter By Gawd King Stood up for the people on New York."

Kobuki

Sham Anger

Feigned threats

From a fucking Long Island racist pig.

Peter King ..... your basic angry white guy.

Hey Pete ... I see right through ya, ya wuss.

21. Yanno, some people I detest based on reason ..... but this guy ....
I just hate him for the fun of it. There's absolutely nothing in that guy that, for me, evokes a strong reaction. Of everyone who rates a 'clown biting your jugular' sentence, this guy tops the list.

23. Unfortunately, 'grandstanding' is all that counts these days ...
... he's going to have to appear to go-the-distance on this issue to save face with NYers. As to whether he'll actually accomplish anything, well, as we say back on the block, that's a whole 'nother thing!

12. King will just have to take it and say 'May I have another'
What did King think -- that the avaricious nazis in the White House wouldn't screw him and his constituents like they've screwed everyone else?

I guess Repubs are morons as well as being selfish fascists.

How'd you like your tiger-ride, Pete? Now that it's over.

16. I agree with your assessment of Mr. King completely..
He's just pandering and even though I live in Illinois, Peter King has that down to an art.

I just wish someone in his district in Long Island would ask Mr. King how he can rationalize his stance on illegal immigration with all the pro-IRA people he worked with in the 1990's to get Gerry Adams a visa to visit the US?

Mr. King, do any illegal Irish live in your district on Long Island and if they do, how would you deal with their situations???? I'd love to see his answer to that particular question....

Mr. King is a hypocrite of the highest order...

22. Isn't this the rethuglican that in 2004 made the declaration on TV about
counting votes?

FUCK PETER KING!

Alex Pelosi's new film "Diary of a Political Tourist" catches a tipsy Congressman Peter King making a comment at a White House function before the election had been finished that, "It's already over. The Election's over. We Won."

When Pelosi asks, "How do you know that?" King replies, "It's all over but the counting. And we'll take care of the counting."
