Bill Kristol, pissed off that Haditha has to be covered
Thunderlips Kristol was on Foxnews this morning with Jon Scott, and while admitting that what happened in Haditha, if true, was a very serious offense, and should be taken care of, he was also pissed off at the fact that the press is denigrating our soldiers by even covering the story in the first place.

I don't have direct quotes, but the gist of what Kristol was saying is that the press is racing at a full gallop to cover the bad things our troops are doing, but not even bothering to cover the good stuff.. Jon Scott, sensing the opportunity to bash the press, said why doesn't the press cover the good news. Kristol lamented the fact that our press hates Bush, and doesn't want to cover the good news.

What Kristol should have asked is why Foxnews refuses to cover Haditha at all. I've seen very few reports on it, and when they do report on it, they do so while bashing critics, and putting the spin on the situation to make it look like it's no big deal that 24 people were massacred.

Yes sir, that's Foxnews. Continuing the tradition of being unfair and unbalanced, (in more way than one).:nopity: :nopity: :nopity: :spank:  :eyes:

1. Kriston is a PNACer. He's one of the people who are directly
responsible for this mess. He's an evil ass****.

17. Yep.....
Evil plots require a lot of secrecy. Back when they signed the PNAC did they forsee the technology of the near future, soldiers with cellphones that can take pictures, information traveling in seconds? It's put a damper on their well planned schemes.

8. The better question for Fox News is....
Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 10:36 AM by Got WMD
Why doesn't cable TV ever cover good news? It's always, Natalie Holloway, Laci Peterson, bikini stranglers, car chases and the like. Why??? Because that gets ratings. The school opening in Topeka, Kansas won't pay for little Billy Kristol's hefty fee to give his "opinion" on a daily basis.

14. Good point
The extreme right in this country has their own 24-hour news channel.
And why doesn't Fox broadcast the "good news"?
Because there is none.

Kristol repeating the tired line about the "good news" is laughable.
He should get a video camera and go film the f#%king good news himself. Fox will air it.

Absurd concept - Chickenhawk loser Kristol wandering around Basra or Ramadi looking for the good news.

Here's Kristol on his first day reporting from Iraq: "Anybody around here seen the new Bechtel health clini.......BOOM.

16. Excellent point.
Kristol helped build this house, with his trashing of Clinton on Faux, and now he is whining when the sensitional journalism is turned against his interests. Remarkable.

9. What series (sarcasm) offense? I mean, it's not like it hasn't been done
before . . . I'm not talking MyLai, I'm talking about our US troops killing Germans who had surrendered . . .

(Oh, if you didn't realize it . . . :sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm:)

11. US killing German POW's

I met a German living in Canada that lost his father in an American POW Camp.

It was towards the end of the War and I think the Americans treated some German POW's pretty bad.

He was matter of fact about it, no animus or anything. It's just a reminder that not all Americans in War do only virtuous caring things.

13. Interesting...
The CBS videographer and sound guy who were killed, and
Ms. Crozier who was badly hurt were trying to cover some
of Kristol's vaunted "good news" when they hit an IED.

So I'm told anyway.

15. I guess this means that Kristol
is finally acknowledging that FOX News isn't really part of the press and exists solely as the propaganda arm of the GOP. Otherwise, why wasn't FOX included in his criticisms?

I mean, since there's all that "good news" in Iraq just waiting for some intrepid reporters to cover it, you'd think that FOX would send a team in to scoop the world, wouldn't you? What with them being the patriotic and brave reporters they are and all, I'm surprised they're not fighting each other to be the first to go cover all those new schools and hospitals being built outside the green zone, and showing how much better off Iraq is now that we've brought freedom and democracy and ice cream there.

Or maybe not.
