"Guest Worker" status. NAFTA and CAFTA in the States themselves?
I'm all for anyone seeking better circumstances for themselves and their loved ones. I'm not for business taking advantage of cheap labor and reducing every one else's rights in the process...

So wise me up. Would this immigration legislation, granting guest worker status, simply legalize cheap labor, allow companies to lower wages and benefits even further, to use this cheap labor as a lever to further weaken worker's rights, wages, and benefits in contrast with the excuse that they're lucky to even have jobs in the face of a vast pool of such cheap labor? Moving us further into The Company Store?

Has Perot's "Giant sucking sound" of jobs disappearing south reached north into the US in regard to a diminuition of worker's rights and wages?

If they could lift the cheap labor up to the standards and wages established by unions (a double-edged sword themselves, but oh so necessary to avoid abuse by the rich), a better life would be available for all. This of course would require outsourcing to end, and for new jobs to be created at these levels. Ha ha, I jest. You can see which way the wind is blowing, and it's in favor of the rich and having the world economy under their thumb. Forgive me for invoking Dylan and the Stones in the same sentence and simply take the meaning for what it is, as I'm not truly either a Dylan or Stones fan. Some things have simply made their way into the national consciousness.

It appears that the US will not be a major market in the future.

Also, I wondered if the attack on the Trade Towers on 9/11 and previously, was an attempt to injure or crash the US and or western economy. Since you have to break some eggs to make an omelette, and the Gang of Rich Men allied into the New World Order are realigning the world economy and markets, I wonder if this would be part of the plan, and that they are to blame.

?

End ramble.

2. I understand.
If you total up Reagan's deregulations, the weakening of unions, the destruction of pensions and benefits, outsourcing, privatizing, laws limiting consumer rights to recompense from malfeasant corporations, laws limiting whistleblowers, strengthening business owners and weakening workers' rights, and add in that this is global, you might require chemical compensation to get through the day.

"Angered and frightened by rich international megacorporations buying out the political and legal systems of this and other nations, stealing resources and forming an energy monopoly and risking world war in the process? And the shadowy Christian special interest groups whispering away behind much of it? Take Oblivia, the new crystal geltab, and ease your day away. Remember, two a day; it's the law. Brought to you by the rich international pharmaceutical megacorporations."

This isn't THX1138, but we said the same thing about 1984 until recently.

3. Without citizenship, absolutely
I noticed today that Wolf was attaching amnesty to the citizenship aspect of the immigration bill. If they manage to do that, and convince people sending folks home through guest worker will keep them from taking jobs permanently, then we'll end up with the worst possible scenario. A revolving door guest worker program will make people afraid to stand up for their rights and end up being just like the Marianas. You can see how guest worker would end up just by looking at Global Horizons. http://www.lightupthedarkness.org/blog/?p=39

People who want to come here and be citizens is the best way to protect immigrants' rights and our labor standards.

4. U.S. not a Major Market
I had to comment on your statement that "the U.S. will not be a major market in the future." I think you've hit the nail on the head with that one.

With the constant suppression of wages by outsourcing and illegal immigration, American workers won't have the money to buy American production. It is American consumer income that creates the American consumer market. And this income is dependent on American real wages, which are declining due to the actions of the globalist "cheap labor lobby."

Reducing wages to reduce labor costs also reduces consumer income. Without consumer income, there's no consumer spending, no consumer production demand, and no profits from the sale of production. Unfortunately, Corporate America doesn't quite get this connection.

Profits are made from sale of goods, not their production. Declining consumer income reduces sale of production, and the profits made from that sale. Hopefully, some of our Corporate-owned legislators will figure this out before it's too late.
