Specter warns Cheney on bid to sway committee
Senator leads panel reviewing White House’s surveillance program

Updated: 7:10 p.m. ET June 7, 2006 http://msnbc.com

WASHINGTON - Senate Judiciary Chairman Arlen Specter wants Vice President Dick Cheney to stop trying to influence his committee’s review of the White House’s warrantless surveillance program.

“It is neither pleasant nor easy to raise these issues with the administration of my own party, but I do so because of their importance,” the Pennsylvania Republican wrote Cheney in a three-page letter Tuesday.

Specter complained that Cheney was lobbying other GOP Judiciary Committee members to oppose efforts to subpoena phone company executives. Specter wants to find out what they did to aid the National Security Agency’s controversial surveillance work.

Cheney is probably the one that ordered this unconstitutional act against Americans.

I still can't see how the American public can sit back and take no action against these criminal cooperate cons.

2. Welcome Jack...
as you will find out, Specter lost his sphincter with his unfortunate brush with the big "C"...my point is, unless you look REALLY good in blue, do not hold your breath 'cuz it ain't gonna happen!

3. Senator Specter
The interesting thing about Sen. Specter's clash can be found in two Senate votes in the last two days. Most northeast Senators voted with the Democrats on the gay marriage amendment and on the Estate Tax. Senator Specter taking on the vice president shows a willingness to buck the administration on the privacy issue. This all may represent a re-alignment of moderate Republicans to the Democratic party agenda.

6. You're new here, aren't you?
Specter is a WH whore who occasionally talks like a real man, then as soon as it's time to act or vote he does whatever Smirk and Dick want him to.

When the moderate Repubs align with the Dems, pack an extra sweater because it will mean that hell just froze over.

7. So what else is new?
Mr Magic Bullet Man is probably a lame duck, he doesn't have to go back to the voters until 2010. If anyone thinks Arlen will stand up to the Nazis, well, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I'd love to sell to you!

8. Ooh! Looky! Arlen's "raising an issue"! Soon he'll "be concerned"!
And after that, he'll become "alarmed" by something - martial law, massive bribery scandals, abrogating the Constitution.

And then, Katy bar the door! He'll issue a statement, or read prepared remarks on the Senate floor, or maybe even speak with reporters! Why, there's no limit to the damage an enraged Arlen Specter might do to the Bush Administration!

:eyes: :puke:
