Thank You, Al Gore ... a note from Michael Moore

Things on which we no longer allow ANY debate: Slavery, child labor, the existence of the Holocaust, women being allowed to vote, Trent Lott's hairpiece.

Add now to this list: Global Warming. No more debate. Not another word. Zip it. The planet is in a state of emergency.

Al Gore has performed an incredible humanitarian service.

Al Gore has performed an incredible humanitarian service. Go see An Inconvenient Truth. This is a great documentary. And bring your conservative brother-in-law.

Thank you, Al Gore. We are all behind you. We are all with you.

Back in the 90s - Michael Moore made some valid criticisms of the Clinton-Gore administration.

You may remember that in 2004, Moore was a strong supporter of Wes Clark.

If the church can welcome former sinners, then the Democratic Party should accept ex-Nader people.

Of course it helps to smooth things over if they are willing to truly repent! ;)

6. I'm happy for Gore and glad Moore has come around.. but...
Does the "That was then. This is now." rule apply to anyone in your book?

Seems to me that some on the left say "Too late" when a Democrat says he/she was wrong to vote for the IWR.

11. In my book, it depends
When Moore first spoke up for Nader, Nader was saying he wouldn't run in any close states. And I don't know where Moore votes, but if it's Michigan or California, his was probably a fairly safe protest vote. I don't forgive Nader for going back on his word, but I have a bit more sympathy for those who went along. Since I live in KS, I was a Nader Trader with a guy up in PA.

I'm not sure anyone really thought the TX Idiot would win (and in fact, he didn't), and almost no one realized he'd be as bad as he is. Six years ago, I'd have probably told you it wasn't humanly possible for a US president to be as bad as Bush is.

Fwiw, I don't think a vote for the IWR is unforgivable either. Again, it depends. But I really don't think we need to derail the thread with that argument.

4. I'm still a little mad at Moore... and others...
...for suggesting there was no difference between Gore and Bush in 2000. A lot of people have died because Bush took office, and it's hard to forget that the misplaced hubris of Moore (and others) was one of the many factors that helped put him there.

Moore is a great filmmaker, though. He's done a lot of good. I'm glad to see he's found redemption on Gore. Welcome back to the club.

5. HIm and Barbara Ehrenreich
But what do they care? They got nice Bush tax cuts, and the case could be made that Moore and Ehrenreich sell more books with Bush in the White House than if Gore were president.

7. Me, too
If they wanted to claim that Gore wasn't liberal enough, fine. That was certainly fair. But to say there was no difference between Democrats and Republicans was inaccurate, and I have to believe that Michael Moore was smart enough to know that.
