Good Article on Democratic suit to keep Tom Delay on the Ballot
Here is a link to a good article out of Fort Bend County on the lawsuit filed by the Texas Democratic party to keep Tom Delay on the ballot. http://www.fortbendnow.com/news/1275/democrats-suit-slaps-speed-bumps-on-gops-congressional-racetrack One of the key things that I like was the fact that this lawsuit has put a halt to the GOP plans to pick a candidate to replace Tom Delay on the ballot. A temporary restraiing order is now in effect until June 22, 2006 that prevents the GOP from taking any steps to replace Delay and that includes even picking the members of the four person committee who was going to pick Delay's replacment on the ballot.

The lawsuit also allows the Democrats to make some political hay about the fact that Delay went into the primary knowing that he was going to resign and in effected defrauded his campaign contributors into making contributions to him when he knew that he was going to drop out. As a result, Delay raised money that he can now use to pay legal fees.

This is going to be a fun case to watch.

2. Let's support true democracy
The Republicans of Fort Bend County have made their wishes clear: they want Mr. DeLay on the November ballot. Let's not try to subvert the clearly expressed will of the people.
