DNC starts their tour of '08 Democratic Convention locations this month!
to Matt who continues to keep the 2008 Democratic Convention Watch website updated !!

http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/

As everyone knows.. the 4 cities still in contention are:

Minneapolis
New Orleans
Denver
New York City

I have a feeling Matt will keep us updated as they spend time in each location and conduct their overview of the facilities. (Matt, you're on the "Technical Advisory Group" that gets to go, right? )

I think we're lucky to have 4 incredible locations to choose from and I can't wait to see which city wins it!! ~~~

21. Only bad thing about Denver is that it is very expensive to fly into.
For me, it's the same distance as flying to Chicago or Dallas, but it is always, as long as I can remember, at least twice as much.

7. This is getting me all excited for 2008....LOL
I'm not really sure about any of the cities but I would say Denver. There is just something about it that makes it seem different from the others.

8. NYC isn't exciting, NO ties in Blanco and Nagin (not good),
and I am neutral on Minneapolis. Denver might be good since CO is turning blue. (This is all IMHO of course). I bet CO will have a dem governor in 06.

11. They were in Denver last week, I believe
At least some of the group were there.

New Orleans will be last because they won't be ready for the presentation until late summer.

15. TAG in Denver last week?
I'm not saying you're wrong, but there were no news reports on any visit last week, so I'm a bit dubious until evidence says otherwise. - Matt

17. Matt !!! ~~~ You dropped in !!! ~~~ Awesome!
I was just looking through the posts from a few days ago and ran across this one..

I hadn't seen it since you dropped in!

From what I've read on your website.. I wouldn't have thought that they'd made it to Denver yet either. Heck Dean is zipping around from Alaska to the Caribbean right now on top of his appearance at the KOS appearance in "Lost Wages". I'm not sure when he'd have been able to find the time just yet?

I just thought it was pretty cool that the trips to the four cities in contention begin late this month and continue through... I think you said August?

Anyway- thanks for stopping by and THANK YOU for keeping that site maintained like you do!

I think all four of the cities they've narrowed it down to are GREAT!!! But, from reading your website.. wow- I'm REALLY impressed with the effort that Denver is putting out in order to have it held in the Rocky Mountain High State.

To me.. that says a LOT!!

20. I know the DLC is meeting in Denver to form our agenda in July.
They are pushing hard for Denver, don't know what the DNC and those on the committee there are working for.

16. I believe that the whole country would applaud if the Dems go
to New Orleans, a city in need of our support. I saw a special on Nature tonight (probably a repeat, so maybe y'all have seen it) about the wonderful, caring job by volunteers (HSUS, etc.) in saving pets left behind, zoo animals and the dolphins at an aquarium and the penquins at another site. It was heart-breaking and heart-rending, but also so heart-warming. New Orleans needs us. Denver can be next time. I believe also in encouraging the Dems out West.
