Democrat plans two-day 'conversation' across state
Before Tennesseans vote in the Democratic presidential primary on Feb. 10, local residents will get a chance to meet one of the candidates in Jackson.
Retired Gen. Wesley Clark is scheduled to appear about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Murphy Tractor Co., 521 Airways Blvd. in Jackson, Clark spokeswoman Carol Andrews said Sunday. The public is invited to attend.
The Jackson visit will be part of a bus tour that starts Wednesday in Memphis and works its way east across the state through Thursday, she said. It will stop in Paris about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday before heading into Middle Tennessee. On hand will be Clark, some of his surrogates he's sent to speak for him at other events, and possibly his wife, Gertrude, "though it depends on where she's needed most," Andrews said.
