Think of it as an insurgency
Dean started this 50 state strategy thing. Along came the usual naysayers and triangulators. It can't be done, they said. Focus on where we can win, they said.

Today we have nearly every race in the country covered with a DEMOCRAT standing for election. A new record for either party was set by the plan Dr. Dean put in place.

Way to Go, Chairman Dean!

The insurgents are surging. We can win this thing!

Many notable Dems supported various candidates, coached them, endorsed them, encouraged them with cash and moral support.

Way to Go, Notable Dems!

The insurgents are surging. We can win this thing!

A number of candidates took it upon themselves to band together. Most notable are the Band of Brothers military vets running for various offices in various places all across the country.

Way to Go, People!

The insurgents are surging. We can win this thing!

Some standing Dems were viewed as less than acceptable. Most notable is Holy Joe. Along comes a fighter in the person of one Ned Lamont. There are others.

Way to Go, Challengers!

The insurgents are surging. We can win this thing!

As we watch the unfolding campaign season get going, take on a life of its own, and move forward, we're seeing many stories of people, new to the game or less than fully experienced, standing up and making a run. When one stands back and takes a longer, wider view of the country, one begins to see what's out there.

It *is* an insurgency. It is being waged against the entrenched (and now embattled) Republican power structure and it is being waged against the obstinate, entrenched, ossified Democratic power structure. Status quo seems less and less operative.

It will be tough going in the weeks and months ahead. And make no mistake, many will fall along the way. But at the end, we really *can* win this thing.

The insurgents are surging. We can win this thing!

BE the insurgency. Pick a candidate for any damned office you want and get out there and SUPPORT that chosen one. Work your ass off for the people who are willing now to work their asses off for you.

BE the insurgency.

I'd like to make some t-shirts that say "Be the Insurgency" or "I am the Insurgency" or somesuch. Would you be okay with that?
