3. I wish I was more optimistic
I really don't think the majority care or agree with us. Hell, they were OK with wiretapping & date mining, still ok with the invasion. America doesn't want democracy they want Capitalism or Socialism.
I am all for helping anyone with a handup or a handout if you are senior or ill but too many want the government to take care of them & the other half want to dominate the world regardless of how it's down.

Do I feel alone in my beliefs

4. #1 Impeach Bush, #2 Impeach Cheney, #3 Turn Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al.
Edited on Thu Jun-15-06 11:06 PM by pat_k
. . .over to the Hague.

As long as the bushcheney syndicate wields the power of the American Presidency, our laws aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

Impeachment is a prerequisite to progress on ANYTHING.

The Unitary Authoritarian Executive and his henchmen are more than happy to describe the many ways they have nuked the constitution. Bush and Cheney have made it crystal clear that nothing short of Impeachment will put an end to their treasonous exercise of unrestrained power. With their own words, Bush and Cheney have made the case that Impeachment and removal are imperative.

Members of Congress just need get past their fear of smear and start telling the unvarnished truth.

Want to guarantee every American the right to see a doctor when they are ill?

Step 1. Impeach Bush and Cheney.

Want to inspire hope and remind Americans that WE ARE the Government?

Impeach Bush and Cheney. (link)

Want America to play a role in shaping rational environmental policy?

Impeach Bush and Cheney

We can only have a role in creating rational global and domestic policy if we have a functioning constitutional democracy capable of responding to, enacting and enforcing our collective will.

Want to put an end to the Tax Kick backs to the New American Aristocracy?

Impeach Bush and Cheney

Want to find a way out of the Quagmire in Iraq?

Impeach Bush and Cheney.

The conflict and chaos that is spreading inhumanity and destroying lives in the Middle East is not inevitable. We can transform resignation into hope right now by reasserting our collective sovereignty, forcing Bush and Cheney out of power, and turning them over to the Hague to answer for their war crimes.

If we restore legitimate leadership in the White House, the doors of possibility that are closed to the fascist war criminals will open.

Until we confront the truth about the Bush occupation and have sworn in a legitimate American President, we cannot hope to commit our nation to the task of engaging the critical players (Sunni, Shia, and Kurdish blocs, ourselves, the EU, Turkey, Russia, China, the Arab League. . . ) and helping them to find solutions that can work because all the parties have a stake in making them work.

There is no "easy out."

If we try to bury the truth and "focus on voting them out" and "moving on" we will suffer the consequences
, just as we are suffering the consequences now of Clinton's decision to let Bush I and his henchmen off the hook so that he could "work with the other side." (That worked out really well, huh? But here we are again, with Democrats spouting the same "we just wanna play nice and make progress" bs.)

7. Media is my issue. Bring back the fairness doctrine
Without equal access to the media, nothing can really be done by anyone other than the GOP. If you can't get the word out or be able to counter all the lies it will not matter who has control of Congress.

14. Hard to choose just two.
I went for Iraq and environment. If we don't start dealing with environmental issues, everything else is pretty much toast.
