2. I think he means "what if..."
I think he is saying what would have happened if the Dems had been united - not what actually happened.

3. But all those voting Present or not voting wouldn't have voted 'no'.

At least half were Republicans. It was passed and it doesn't mean a thing...not worth the paper it's written on...just posturing and a resolution.

4. that's true.....
Earlier they said, even if the resolution passed it would be non binding. At this point, I asked myself, if it's non binding, what's the point?

I mean, if the resolution is not going to affect anything, isn't it just another waste of taxpayer dollars?

7. What's the point of a non-binding resolution?
Nothing except to use it as a club to beat your political opponents over the head. Considering the House has scheduled the fewest legislative days in decades this year, you might wonder why they're wasting time on non-binding resolutions instead of, oh, say working on port security or authorizing money for container inspections. But if you did that, you'd be siding with the terrorists, who are apparently ignorant of the fact that millions of shipping containers come into our ports every day without so much as a dog sniff.

And don't hold your breath waiting for the talking chuckleheads on the news programs to point this out, either.

8. yes, I know not to expect the media to support........
....anything other than Bush talking points!

The other day I saw Wolf talking to Frist. Wolf was asking about why they are focusing on things like gay marriage and the flag burning amendment. Frist said they were also doing other things too. He said they spent 1 day on the flag burning thing and he also pointed out other things they've done this year. He pointed to the appointments of 2 Supreme Court justices........as if that was an accomplishment! Ok, maybe it was a little of an accomplishment because they had to get them confirmed but they also did that because there were vacancies that they needed to fill! Frist was trying to say that they could do more than one thing at a time and that they spent very little time on the flag burning thing.

But really, why are they spending any time at all on flag burning? I mean, when is the last time any of us saw someone burn an American flag? The only flag burning I've ever seen has been done by middle easterners protesting the US!

So if no one (in this country) is burning flags, why was it so important to even discuss it? Especially now when there are so many other, more important things to debate!!

Everything they're doing now is because of partisan reasons! And they always try to say that Democrats are too partisan!!
