Please don't get angry at the 42 Democrats that voted for the resolution!
Here what I need say, please don't get angry at the 42 democrats that voted for the resolution and here are my reasons why.

-First off the repukes sent this floor to put the Democrats in a bind due to the fact it's an election year, put the Democrats on the spot about the war. Cause if you read the resolution it really doesn't talk too much about the iraq but the war on terrorism as a whole, here are the main parts of the resolution:

-the u.s will prevail in the war on terror
-we do support out troops
-it's was right to get saddam Hussein out of power
-commending the job of the iraqi p.m

Not talking really about withdrawal or timetable. About 142 Democrats could be in trouble for voting against the resolution cause there republican opponents and the MSM could twist this around saying that we don't support our troops and that we do "cut and run" on the war, even though we don't.

Second,if you look at the list of Democrats that voted for the resolution, you'll see that there DINO's at best. 42 Democrats voted for the resolution and the ones that voted for it are either DLC, blue dog and some southern Democrats and you know that they do think differently from regular progressive democrats like ourselves.

So please do not not get yourself into a bind over this or create a protest over it, it's a joke, bill plain and simple like the Hunter resolution, if this was a bill calling for a withdrawal of our troops and 42 democrats voted against it then get mad, then flood the congressmen offices with negative phone calls. But until then....just relax.

2. I think it was great to get 147 to vote against it, considering the text.

3. Oh no. Don't be upset. Officially we're the party AGAINST
continuation of the occupation and 'war but hell, just because they decided to hand bush** and the repukes a nice little piece of propaganda, don't get upset. Don't let the world see that when dems don't vote according to dem positions that there's a problem.

Screw it, let's just not stand for anything. That'll be better yet, won't it??????

:sarcasm:

4. My Congressman, Nadler voted against it.
That makes me one of the lucky ones. My representative has principles and guts.

And a Democratic constituency that would eat his liver if he did anything else.

7. I never do this, but...
"there" refers to a place or direction. "our guys are getting killed over there."

"their" refers to ownership. "their republican opponents and the MSM could twist this around"

"they're" is the contraction of 'they are'. "if you look at the list of Democrats that voted for the resolution, you'll see that they're DINOs at best"

I have no other comment on the content of the OP except to add that the majority in congress is wasting everyone's time debating inconsequential non-binding resolutions when they should be getting on with the people's business.

9. Let's pass a resolution saying we're gonna win the War Against Cancer!
That will accomplish just as much.

8. Here is why I can get mad. . .
First who in the heck writes these bills.

We support our troops? So I could vote agianst supporting the troops? Does that mean we could stop paying them if the bill passed?

The U.S. Will prevail on the war in terror. How can you vote yes or no on this it is a freaking opinion not a fact or rule or law.

Commending the job of the Iraq P.M. Now I understand why I was so annoyed when the house voted to commend the Pittsburg Steelers football team. What in the hell is our government doing pasting gold stars on certificates and wasting my money for it? Where are the laws about fiscal responsibility?

Second, this government took a huge vacation during winter, took another huge break for spring, took a third week off for memorial day. Guess how many days off I had from work during that time? 6 (yes I counted) and 1/2 of those were holidays, the other half I had to pay for with vaction time.

Then they come back and the senate tries a Three steps to morality with immigrants, gays, and flags and the house spends its time Writing opinions into law?

Where is my tinfoil hat? Is this is just another ploy by the bush administration so he can say "you see why you need me? The congress is incompetent!"

11. See what I mean
Vent at the repukes, it's all right. This was a bill that will solve nothing at all, something that that the repukes wanted to get the democrats in hot water, which it won't.

16. hot water? no, the only 'hot' water they are in
is the steam coming out of the ears of those of us, who want representitives who are true to their constituancies, not their 're-election hopes' or their 'lobby' bosses.
If they can't handle the PR- they aren't worth re-electing. Taking a stand somewhere is essential- what is it going to TAKE to finally wake this country up???????

13. They should have just refused to vote
It's a resolution that does nothing, they should have walked out on the vote to protest the Repukes wasting their time with this POS resolution.

14. that would have been a much better answer-
too bad they didn't have the guts to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reasons, and left their 'self-interest' at the altar of this "king dumb"

15. The resolution itself is meaningless.
It was a way to hose the Democrats no matter how they voted.

Vote for the resolution: Obviously support Bush.
Vote against the resolotion: Don't support our troops.
Don't vote either way: Don't care about America.

It's a lose/lose/lose resolution.

17. I am mad at them because....
the Democrats have to be unified on the things that really matter.

That includes calling the GOP on bullshit. And this resolution was bullshit, designed to make the Democrats look bad.

If the Democrats had united and with one voice said "Hell no. This is a sham and we're not going to go along with a sham" it would have been a strong stand against GOP bullying.

Also, you have to remember that the GOP Congress's credibility with the public at the moment is down in the dumpster. Peopoe are at least willing to listen to the Democratic alternatives -- but the Democrats have to offer alterntives.

and refused to vote on a cheap, political stunt.
