Ed Rogers on the Chris Matthews Show
MATTHEWS: I‘m asking Ed Rogers, he‘s a Republican. Who are the Republicans, he talks to, afraid of facing in 2008?

ROGERS: What does a winning Democrat nominee look like? It looks like Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. Who looks most like that? Mark Warner, easy to decide.

1. Who The Republicans WANT For a Democratic Nominee
MATTHEWS: Ed Rogers, is it not a smart strategy for Hillary Clinton, or is it a smart strategy for her, to stay so close to the president, who she‘s ready to dethrone if she‘s going to run for president?

ROGERS: Well, I don‘t know if I would characterize her position as close to the president. Having said that, I‘m worried about her getting booed in front of Democratic activists, because I am for her becoming the Democratic nominee. I am a Republican that underestimates Hillary Clinton. We know what a winning Democrat nominee looks like. It looks like Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. It doesn‘t look like a liberal northeast senator named Hillary Clinton and so I want her to be the nominee, my second choice is John Kerry.

MATTHEWS: You‘re now admitting that Bill Clinton is a man in the middle?

3. The GOPs know that Kerry beat them by about 5 million votes - don't even
THINK they are telling the truth - they know how damn busy they had to make themselves suppressing votes, purging voter rolls and rigging machines all over the country to stay in power.

2. Amazing, isn't it?
Amazing how generous the thug-uglies are in lending their political expertise to the democratic party, helping choose the candidate best suited to lead the dem revolution.

I'd guess we haven't thanked them properly for their magnanimity. Should correct that oversight.

I am especially cheered by the Pelosi driven exercise in integrity and the appearance of integrity standards they seem to be setting.
There are bound to be some ruffled feathers as regards representative Jefferson, the CBC, the committee, and the adjustments, enormously difficult for public servants who must be chosen and do their jobs as a function of popularity contests.

4. I don't give a flying crap what he thinks
He is part of the lying Rethuglican machine. Why should I give any credence whatsoever to this man? I don't care about who he does or doesn't want to have as the Democratic nominee. He is a liar, as is everyone else in the hierarchy of the Repub party. He can go Cheney himself, as far as I am concerned.
