Why I should win the DFA contest
by NancySkinner
Fri Jun 16, 2006 at 02:55:16 PM EDT
Nancy Skinner here, the Democratic candidate in Michigan's 9th CD (suburban Detroit) - fresh off the Yearly Kos convention where I was in attendance. In addition to getting energized, I was able to meet with Joe Trippi and bring him on board the Skinner campaign!

DFA is holding their "grass-roots all-star contest" and the runoff vote is Monday, June 19th by 5:00 PM. I am in second place and need your vote on Monday to win. http://tools.democracyforamerica.com/housevote/index.php?refid=8

Why do I deserve it?

NancySkinner's diary :: ::
I started as an environmentalist and pioneered progressive radio to get our voices heard much the way the blogosphere has continued to expand the national conversation. As a congresswoman I will help the auto industry green itself by producing more hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fuel-cell vehicles. Buzzflash.com just posted an interview with me that says a lot about where I have been and where I'm going http://www.buzzflash.com/...

The really good news is that I can win! This district is a 50/50 district and Republicans have an ugly primary while Democrats have united. I'd love you to visit my website www.skinnerforcongress.com, watch me on video on TV, and give us feedback (and hopefully your DFA vote)!

Help elect me to Congress and C-Span will get a lot more interesting... Nancy Skinner (DEM MI-09) www.skinnerforcongress.com

3. 90 minutes left!
There is an hour and a half left until the end of the first round at the DFA vote. If you haven't already voted, please vote for Nancy Skinner. Then check right back on Monday June 19 for the runoff and you may vote again. Thank you to everyone who has supported us. Nancy is sincerely grateful to each and every one of you.

5. The good thing about Skinner is that she has a strong voice
She use to be on Chicago radio and ran for office here in Illinois a couple of years ago. She doesn't let people over-talk her when they try to get her to stop promoting progressive ideas. Just what the House needs.

7. I've voted for her and I'm trying to remember to do so again on Monday.
Heard her and Randi and Malloy last night. Sounds like she has an excellent chance to win.
