2. This is what Murtha said today on the House floor. Give 'em hell, Murtha!
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 03:34 PM by flpoljunkie
REP. JOHN MURTHA (D), PENNSYLVANIA: When I hear somebody standing here sanctimoniously saying we're going to fight this out, we're not fighting at all. The troops are doing the fighting. The families are doing the sacrificing. A small proportion of families in this country are doing the sacrificing. And that's why I get so upset when they stand here sanctimoniously saying we're fighting this thing. It's the troops who are doing the fighting, not the members of Congress who are doing the fighting.

Murtha said this in response to this statement below from Patrick McHenry, 9R-NC) which Wolfie just showed again. Murtha was great, by the way!

REP. PATRICK MCHENRY (R), NORTH CAROLINA: They're advocating a policy called cut and run. They're advocating a policy of waving the white flag to our enemies. It is a policy, Mr. Speaker -- make no mistake about it -- that the left in this country are advocating. But we are fighting a war. We are fighting a war against Islamic extremists that hate the very fiber of our being as Americans.

3. Wolf and the other media lapdogs APPLAUD the lies and hubris of the GOPs
and wouldn't even think of holding them accountable to the facts.

7. Don't you just love how they call Bush's 1pt bump a "modest uptick?"
It's within the margin and error, for crying out loud--and not worthy of being called an uptick, bump, or anything of the sort!

6. Murtha is the REAL THING
He talks straight, he doesn't mince words -- he's the kind of leader we NEED right now, not mealy-mouthed Pelosi. We ought to switch leaders now, before the elections; every time Murtha goes on TV, he impresses, while Pelosi just makes us look as vague as the right says we are.

9. Murtha and Pelosi have been close for some time. Murtha would make a
great majority leader, and he signaled at the interview's end that Hoyer would be running against him for the post! And he laughed. The man is confident!

Murtha actually handled Pelosi's campaign for minority leader, and,of course, she won!

12. The non-binding resolution was "clever" according to Leslie?
He's probably all impressed with those guys who attach dummies to their arms and legs so that they all dance in unison, too. I used to think it was clever, then I turned 8 and it just seemed gimmicky and childish.
