Question: How is GOP FundRaising Going?
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 04:49 AM by McCamy Taylor
Reason tells me that if I was a cash strapped businessman, particularly if my travel.manufacturing.transportation.vacation.retail business was suffering from high employee health insurance costs and high oil costs, I would be very, vert hesitant to put all my eggs in the Republican Congressional Committee coffers this year. I might even consider giving most of my money to the Democrats, since Howard Dean seems like a level headed man, and the majority of Americans want the Democrats to control Congress, and the only thing the RNC has going for it is election fraud which is sort of a gamble.

Usually around this time of each election cycle, the Republicans start bragging about how much money they have received. They are the party of the Puritan ethic, so this is meant to show the Christians that God loves them---He would not let them accumulate all this money if He didnt. It also shows them as Winners in the American system. And it encourages other business donors to hop aboard the train which is found for victory.

Maybe I am not watching enough news, but I havent heard a single Republican brag about how much money they are raising. Is W. even holding find raisers? Is Karl Rove? Are they being forced to resort to looting the Katrina Restoration Fund that Rove is supposed to be managing (I have always called it the Katrina Slush fund). Can the oil industry, telecommunications industry, insurance industry and phramaceutical industries alone finance the GOP?

2. Is it possible to compare small donations?
It would be interesting to be able to contrast corporate and "fat cat" money with money raised from "average voters."
