Thank You Rep. Schakowsky... Re: Theft of 2004
As covered at BradBlog, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky has faced the demon of Election Fraud and called it for what it is at the Take Back America conference.

...First, we must not allow the Republicans to steal the election-again...

Stealing: I apologize for not taking seriously enough the allegations that the 2004 election was stolen. After reading Bobby Kennedy's article in Rolling Stone, "Was the 2004 Election Stolen?", I am convinced that the only answer is yes. He documents how 357,000 Ohio voters, the vast majority Democrats, "were prevented from casting ballots or did not have their votes counted…more than enough to shift the results." Watch for the DCCC to take some very public steps in the near future to ward off a repeat performance. In the meantime, there needs to be a citizens' effort starting now to assess the machines, the ballots, the registration process within each and every election jurisdiction in each and every swing district and state, in the case of Senate races. Where the situation looks perilous, go to the media, raise a stink, demand changes. This is a great project for the many of you who have been diligently working to guarantee fair and accurate elections...

Rep. Schakowsky, whatever the DCCC does, it must not be for show. It must be concrete and deal with all of the serious issues raised by Rep. Conyers.

It must be serious.

Things can change, but without Democratic leadership stepping up to the plate and raising awareness, we got nuthin'.

So thanks.

Get involved.

1. we are going nowhere fast in Maryland
Maryland election director Linda Lamone said voters should not fear fraud with the beginning of in-person early voting in the state , despite concerns expressed by Gov. Robert Ehrlich that it would open the door to unscrupulous voters casting multiple ballots, The Baltimore Sun reported. Also in the Maryland, a computer expert said the Diebold touch-screen machines used statewide are so insecure that he would not detail the problem lest he risk making hacking even easier, the Gazette Newspaper reported. "I challenge the state board of elections to find a single computer scientist to say that these machines are now safe," Avi Rubin of Johns Hopkins University said on Monday. ''This is just more justification to get rid of these machines."
