I was surveyed last night by "Sun Survey"

It started out with questions about Bush, Gore, Dems, Repubs, but moved into global warming pretty quickly and stayed there the rest of the survey - 30 or 40 questions in all. I asked at the end who contracted the survey and she said she couldn't say, so I said "I bet Al Gore did!". She did not reply, and I suppose it could have been anyone.

3. Polls and surveys show....

...only what the person paying for them wants them to show.

I bet I could get a poll result that says President Kerry will get reelected.

Or, for that matter, Ronald Reagan.

...experts on the validity and accuracy of the polls

President Dukakis

President Mondale

President Gore

President Kerry

And President Dean (Remember - he was elected president by the polls before a single vote was cast).

All of the above were leading in the polls at one time.

I hope we don't continue to rely on polls. They're unreliable.
