PBS Frontline: The Dark Side

On September 11, 2001, deep inside a White House bunker, Vice President Dick Cheney was ordering U.S. fighter planes to shoot down any commercial airliner still in the air above America. At that moment, CIA Director George Tenet was meeting with his counter-terrorism team in Langley, Virginia. Both leaders acted fast, to prepare their country for a new kind of war. But soon a debate would grow over the goals of the war on terror, and the decision to go to war in Iraq. Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, and others saw Iraq as an important part of a broader plan to remake the Middle East and project American power worldwide. Meanwhile Tenet, facing division in his own organization, saw non-state actors such as Al Qaeda as the highest priority. FRONTLINE's investigation of the ensuing conflict includes more than forty interviews, thousands of pages of documentary evidence, and a substantial photographic archive. It is the third documentary about the war on terror from the team that produced Rumsfeld's War and The Torture Question.

It tied everything that has occurred together nicely in a manner that demonstrates that our intelligence was hijacked by a group of people that formed a cabal in not one but TWO Whitehouse administrations.

I read more than 98% of people, regarding politics...and there was a LOT in there I didn't know.

The implication of this, though, is that Bush is just a puppet.

Like Cheney storming the CIA headquarters at least 10 times and trying to twist the analysts toward a Saddam/Al Qaeda connection even when it wasn't there. Otherwise, they said VPs never show up at the CIA other than for ribbon cutting.

All they have to do is keep showing sound-bites from the PBS video and the rest will take care of itself dammit!!!!!!!!!

...did he say "We'll have to work through tha da dark side, if you will and spend time in the shadows.." Or was it "with the dark side". I just watched the first 8:21 clip; if the Democrats don't use this and replay this over and over and expose Emperor Palpatine, then we are all doomed come November.

Dubya. It's as if he didn't exist.

This must be what * means by "revisionist history" -- I mean, we all know that he jumped into action and took charge as soon as Andrew Card whispered in his ear, "Mr. President, America is under attack."

It shows very clearly who has been and is in charge in this country and it not the one person who is NOT mentioned.

Cheney and Rumsfield - the Dark Side!

I recall the letter from that woman who used to work for the NY Times who went to jail to "protect" her sources - she said that there were dark actors at work here or something to the same effect. So now I have a better picture of what she was alluding to.
