I gave Harry hell
Harry Reid just sent an email begging for money. He referenced Bush's failed leadership.

On the heels of what happened this morning with the Kerry-Feingold amendment, I had to point out to Harry that the Dems are apparently suffering from failed leadership as well. Basically if you vote like a neo-con, in my eyes you are one. I don't care about their subtle reasons anymore. I want my Senators and Representative to do the will of the people, not what is deemed proper for Senate floor gamesmanship and not what serves their political ambitions.

I had to decline Harry's request for funds. So sorry Harry, but my funds will go to cleaning up the election process so we can sweep out the House and Senate and elect principled individuals like Boxer, Feingold, Kucinich - the kind of senators and reps who are looking out for THE PEOPLE and vote that way.

</end rant>

3. Good for you
All my meager funds go to individual candidates who I know stand for Democratic principles.

4. A truly genius move.
Reid's been the most effective leader we've had since before Clinton, and the Democratic caucus is much more united than it has been in the past and you decide you have to MAKE A POINT.

Whatever. Make your point, but stop throwing away my country when you do it.

5. I'm not giving them any more money either
They want it, they can earn it.

It is my money. I give my hard-earned money to those who deserve it. I don't give it to people who undercut the country and stand for nothing.

10. Aw come on Tay
Did you read Harry Reid's statement on the Senate floor? It was pretty darned good actually. I think we're still in a don't toss away the good for the perfect mode. The Levin Amendment is good, let's get behind both amendments. The only one who is really stay the course is Lieberman. The important thing is to support transition and withdrawal, and the Levin Amendment would have done that too.

Republicans=failed collision course

Democrats=redeploy and refocus on Afghanistan and real war on terrorists.

6. How are they throwing away your country?
Edited on Thu Jun-22-06 02:20 PM by yngliberal
Are we all supposed to walk in lockstep with the Democratic leadership even if we disagree? If we do that, we sound like the Republicans.

8. How has Reid been effective?
He's as impotent as Daschle - more so, when you consider that, in the face of Bush's horrible agenda, there should be NO wavering among the Democratic caucus in terms of where to stand. Of course, when Reid himself is taking the cautious conservative position half the time, how can you expect him to force the caucus to vote for Democratic ideals?

Reid needs replaced by Durbin NOW. Durbin is a smart, effective leader who never betrays the party on important votes.

I'd rather donate money directly to candidates than give it to the DSCC to fritter away while Reid and Co. play their stupid little games, anyway.

11. Well said sister!
Reid does not have the balls to be the leader of the Senate.
He proved it today. Pelosi is doing a better job in the House by getting the
dems to rally together.

We need someone to stand up and take control.
Someone like Kerry. Russ. Someone who can speak with authority.
I like Durbin, but even he is too nice (when he backed down on the Hitler comment).
A leader needs to be strong.

9. Does it really matter?
Rove and the MSM are now branding the Democratic Party as "cut and run". Wouldn't it have been better had they at least voted with conviction?

12. I was so proud of him when he threatened to shut down congress
and they pukes agreed to an investigation into pre-war intelligence. What happened to that? Was it all just for show?
