"Thank God Al Gore did not win in 2000..."
How many times have you heard the kool-aid drinkers say that??

Because if Al Gore had won in 2000, we would not be $9 trillion in debt. We would not be disrespected around the world. We would not be bogged down in Iraq. We would not be cutting programs for the poor and disadvantaged children. We would not be cutting funds for education. We would not be talking about how we cannot afford Social Security. We would not be giving tax cuts to 7500 families in a scam called the "death tax". We would not have lies coming out of the White House. We would not have spying on Americans' phone calls or their bank records.

We would have a President that is respected around the world and who could talk in complete sentences. We would have balanced budgets. We would have more healthcare for our people. We would be safer. We would have a stronger defense. We would have more allies helping us with problems such as terrorism. We would not be at war. Because, if Al Gore had been elected President in 2000, we would not have been attacked on 9/11. Because Al Gore can read and comprehend. He would have read the August 6th PDB for the President. He would not have gone to Crawford, Texas to fish and talk with the cows. Thank God Al Gore was not elected President in 2000?

Well, Al Gore was actually elected President in 2000 but the election was stolen. That truth will never be accepted by those that voted for George W Bush. Unfortunately, we are a nation where half the poeple are in denial.

3. Mine is a little wordy but easy to understand
If Al Gore had been president on September 11th, there would not have been a terrorist attack because Al Gore did not need a terrorist attack.

bush went on vacation longing for the day he would be proclaimed a war president.

8. Gore would've read the HartRudman Report on Global Terror the day it was
Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 11:17 AM by blm
handed to him - Jan 30, 2001. And then he would've worked to IMPLEMENT its urgent proposals for homeland security.

Bush REFUSED TO READ IT.

Repubs have no comeback for that one.

2. Our 2516 dead servicemembers can thank God personally
And if Al Gore were in office now, the North Koreans would not be wanting to test a Nuke Weapon. And if he were president "conservatives" in America would be better off financially. And if he were president, FEMA would have been an effective federal agency last year. Yeah, thank God, he wasn't elected.

7. a quibble, of consequence
I have to be a gadfly and point out that "...unfortunately, we are a nation where half the poeple are in denial...." is not correct. True, almost half WHO BOTHERED TO VOTE are in denial. But only half those eligible to vote did so. So a quarter of the people are in denial, a quarter were right, and HALF are an apathetic waste of oxygen.

10. "STUDY THE PAST"
http://journals.democraticunderground.com/jus_the_facts/23

Huey Long once said. "in the name of anti-fascism" - it will
come in the name of your security -
they call it "National Security," it
will come with the mass media
manipulating a clever concentration
camp of the mind. The super state
will provide you tranquility above
the truth, the super state will make
you believe you are living in the
best of all possible worlds, and in
order to do so will rewrite history
as it sees fit.

George Orwell's Ministry of Truth warned us, "Who
controls the past, controls the
future."

11. The Terrorists attacked us when Bush and Cheney controlled US Security ..
WHEN did the Terrorists attack us ? ... Sept. 2001 ...

WHO was President ? .... George Bush ....

WHO reduced Anti-Terrorism funding prior to that critical event ? .... The Republican party ...

WHO coddled and appeased the Taliban as soon as they took office, even though the Taliban hated freedom, despised women's rights and who provided a safe harbor for Al Qaeda ? ... The Bush/Cheney White House ....

WHO ignored the important memo titled 'Al Qaeda determined to attack within United States' ?? .... The Bush/Cheney White House ....

WHO ignored the ALL of the numerous diplomats, security analysts, foreign service officers, etc, who warned the Bush White House that bin Laden and Al Qaeda needed to be countered ?? .... The Bush/Cheney White House ....

We were ATTACKED when the GOP ruled the nation ....

Nearly 3000 US Citizens died when the GOP ruled the nation .... When THEY provided for 'The National Defense', we were attacked ......

Terrorists attacked us when George Bush, Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld and all their ilk took control of our government ..... it is THEIR fault ..... and no one elses ....

It IS time for them to go ....

13. Thank GOD
If Al Gore had won we could have been in a state of world peace with cheap green fuels. The government would not be run by corporate pushovers and social programs could be in use while maintaining a surplus.

14. I think this pretty much sums it up
"You know, back in 2000 a Republican friend of mine warned me that if I voted for Al Gore and he won, the stock market would tank, we'd lose millions of jobs, and our military would be totally overstretched. You know what? I did vote for Al Gore, he did win, and I'll be damned if all those things didn't come true." - James Carville
