6. Start with google
That will lead you to the name at several paid services. Sometimes there is only a nominal charge to find out a credit score or criminal record.

I can't vouch for the accuracy of these services. I do know the portal information is often wrong.

They were very flattering with my age, for instance.

9. forthcoming
This was a business deal gone bad. I had land for sale that 3 years ago met environmental standards, but now does not. The company states it will take over $200,00 to correct, so the deal is off. I would like to know more about the company that did the study and who owns it. I would like to know if someone in the company owns any part of the other site that was being considered prior to mine being chosen.
I have suspicions that something was going on but do not know what.
Any help would be appreciated. I have used google w/o much success.

12. You can have....
a private investigator research the company for you. It costs between $100 and $200 dollars, and they will search all public records available in one or all of the states. They will not give out any information that is illegal, such as individual social security or identity verifiers, but they will give you enough information that you will have a better idea where you stand.

You can do this over the phone and find someone bonded in your area in your local yellow pages. Good luck.
