Kerry beats Bush in Mich. 51-46, Edwards trails Bush by just 49-46
and Dean by just 50-46. BTW, how much did Gore win the state by in 2000? Was it close?

1. Gore won Michigan
by about 217,000 votes. Michigan is one of the states that the dems absolutely must win in 2004.

Two factors to consider, that will make this a very hard state for Bush to take; Michigan is suffering from the highest unemployment rate in the country and recent layoffs have been hitting hard in GOP strongholds; and the Arab-American vote, which went 90% for Bush in 2000 will go overwhelmingly to the Democrats in 2004

We have also replaced a miserable bastard of a GOP governor with a very popular and charismatic Democrat.
