Dkos Diary: Jim Webb vs. George Allen on 'This Week'
Excellent recap of the interviews......

Sun Jul 09, 2006 at 12:28:37 PM PDT
Jim Webb and George Felix Allen, Jr. were on This Week with George Stephanopoulos earlier today. It was a 15 minute segment, so I can't transcribe the whole thing, but it was a great interview, so I wanted to share some of the highlights. In particular, I was impressed by Jim Webb's willingness to call out the Bush administration on their biggest lie of all -- they don't intend to leave Iraq, and they never did.

1. Thank you for posting this. I watched the interview today, and

I was impressed with Webb. He was highly credible on Iraq, and talked about the large
bases that are being built there. Felix was evasive and smarmy. (I love the link on the KOS site to Felix the cat covered
in a cobweb, or is it a cobwebb?)

I wasn't happy with the way the interview was set up- with Allen always getting the last word. It must have
been a request by Allen's camp. However, Webb was wonderful and came through as
smart and sincere.

2. Pretty brave of Webb to go on with George Felix Allen Jr
and a bunch of Bush-loving whores. Bravo, and I hope George Felix Allen II realizes how lucky he was to live off the taxpayers for so many years.

5. He seems even dumber than the Chimp...and doesn't have a Poppy
who can save him. I cannot believe Repugs would think of running him for President unless they are so desperate they can't think beyond their nose...and glad Webb gave him a very hard time.

6. Oh he has a POPPY....
Son of a Washington Redskins coach ! Still inside the beltway....heh.

Chickenhawk Felix is on record saying he's bored in the Senate, and he's still a few points ahead of a true veteran with working brain cells

9. He is dumb as rocks...and one of the luckiest politicians...
His father was a famous, though overrated football coach. He slides into the Governors office on the wave of good economic times courtsy of President Clinton, and runs for the Senate against the damaged Chuck Robb.

The guy is almost as inarticulate as Bush, and probably not as smart!!!

7. I saw the show and was a little irritated with Stephanapoulos.
It was when Allen was implying that Webb wanted to raise taxes on EVERYONE. I think IF and WHEN Webb is in the same room with that tinhorn cowboy, he will make it clear to Allen he is talking about a Haleburton/Paris Hilton tax.

Stephanapoulos chose to give Allen a pass on that one.
