Fight the Religious Right!
I heard Bill O'Reilly whining about these guys this morning, so I knew they had to be up to something good. They are a group called DefCon, and their main goal is to defeat the religious right!

1. Not familiar with that group, but if O'Reilly's perturbed over them,
they must be doing something right.

Something Left.

Whatever.

3. Imagine if
DU showed up en mass protest on Dobsons, Fawells, Phelps, the Family Councils, or the Bishop Conference doorstep and actually protested the right wing policies of these sheeple. We are wasting time and energy fighting amongst ourselves and name calling. What we should do is to start picketing and protesting the rightiest. It would be so cool that if people on the left joinned together for this.

5. Come on down to Lynchburg
I'm sure I can find you something/somewhere to gather. Here you have the Falwell Mansion, Liberty University (fondly known as Brainwash U.), Thomas Road Baptist Church, and more fundie churchies than you can shake a stick at! Trust me, if you want to protest the Religious Right you've hit the Capitol here! The Bible Belt's buckle is dead center on this fair city and I'm sad to say it.

Let me know and I'll find out what you need to do to get permits for protests, where you can protest (since he owns a good portion of the area near the school), what limits there are for times, things like that. I'll even give you a listing of other good places such as the:

Planned Parenthood buildings (Pro-Lifers abound here with their NASTY pictures)
Schools
Colleges (We have 5 in the city and 4 more in a 45 minute driving distance)
Historical Sites (Poplar Forest, D-Day Memorial, Monument Terrace, Appomattox, etc)
Festivals (nothing like being near large groups of people to spread the word of non-fundies)

and other fun things.

Trust me: Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. If we do this right and you get the right information we can take the fundies by storm.

Just let me know and we can get this rock rolling!

6. Here's another fighter who's worth his salt
"Let me make it clear. I would shed my last drop of blood to defend their right to hold that biblical worldview. They are absolutely entitled to believe that Anne Frank is burning in hell along with Dr. Seuss, Gandhi and Einstein," he says. "But I will not accept my government telling me who are the children of the greater God and who are the children of the lesser God. That's the difference. I will not defend -- I will fight them tooth and nail, and lay down a withering field of fire and leave sucking chest wounds -- if they engage the machinery of the state, which is what they're doing." - Mikey Weinstein
