This is Just WRONG! EIA scraping "Foreign Crude Oil Acquisition Report"!!!
July 2006 is that last one due to budget cuts and the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (Section 3507(h)(1) of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (Pub. L. No. 104–13, 44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).

Can you say "Contract on America?" :banghead::grr:

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I don't see anywhere, in this posting to the Federal Register, that says that this this report is being replaced by anything, they are just going to stop collecting this vital data to "save money and paperwork." (Federal Register / Vol. 71, No. 56 / Thursday, March 23, 2006 / Notices)

Here's the pdf file link: <http://www.eia.doe.gov/smg/Discontinue-EIA182&856-FRNotice-March23-2006.pdf>

Heck, why would we need a "Monthly Foreign Crude Oil Acquisition Report" anyway? If we don't know where all that Foreign Crude Oil is coming from, then our increasing dependance on Imported Oil isn't a probelm anymore, RIGHT?

Someone who knows the Oil industry better than me PLEASE tell me I'm wrong on this one, because if I'm right, THIS IS INSAINE!!! :nuke:

4. the government can scrap the program but they cannot
stop the information from being published. for now we will have to rely on what the oil industry reports because they are accurate. in these times we have to find other sources to find the truth untill our government serves the people again

5. Oh PLEASE! You would sooner trust the Mega Oil Corporations...
...over the working stiffs at the Energy Information Administration? You really are confused.

Without official Government accounting, collecting and reporting this data, what are we left with?

We are left at the mercy of Mega Corps with their shady accounting practices, to come up with these numbers. Each Corporation will be coming up with different numbers to fit their earnings that month.

Sorry, I'll trust the $20.00 an hour Federal Bureaucrats long before I'd ever trust an Oil Industry Trade magazine to report accurate numbers.

Why the hell do you think they are getting rid of these reports? To save Paper?
