Why does Bush give most of his speeches and appearances down South??
Is it because his "good ol' boy" bullshit would not work in most places in New England or northern states? He loves to talk like he's a "Southerner". This is part of his "game". I cannot recall him giving even one speech in New England?? I may be wrong but it seems like he intentionally chooses areas in the South so he can talk like he did when he had his mouth full of a G-8 biscuit? That connects with the people he wants to connect with, I suppose?

1. because it's a big part of the GOP base and it's beginning to crack
If you look at his polling numbers the only states he is usually over 50% in are Utah, Idaho and Wyoming--even the south has begun to see through his act.

2. I live in Mississippi
and I see the ignorant trash that would cheer him for no apparent reason on a daily basis. They are not only ignorant they are too proud to admit they are wrong. It makes them feel good to wave a Chinese Made American Flag. They don't give a fuck about our kids in Iraq; and they have no fucking idea how the economy works or the taxation system, they just "know" bush is a good christian man of the people, not one of them smart ass edumucated libruls. He is no man's man. He's almost 6 years into his seat in DC and he still doesn't have that fake brush pile cleaned up.

7. That is the only place where the "free speech" zones...
... are big enough to hold all of the protesters.

He's fragile ego couldn't stand the blow if he had to face what the country really thinks about him. It's easier on him to face the fawning morons down South.

13. Where can we find Bush's schedule?
What percentage of his speeches/appearances are actually in the South?

No matter where he speaks, the general public is not allowed to attend. I doubt any Southerner would recognize his accent.

15. he was clobbered when he came to Illinois
even our journalists refused to cow down to him. The places where * is welcome in the world are dwindling.

16. Because he knows the Democratic candidate for POTUS
will probably come from the South; he's got that Texas accent down pat; he gets demonstrated against in the northern states; that "greatest-guy-at-the-barbecue" schtick of his doesn't go over well in New England.

Just a few reasons... there are more but you get the idea.
