Democrats almost guaranteed the House
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 06:51 PM by espera17
The most neutral pundit I have found: http://electionpredictions.blogspot.com , has the Democrats gaining 11 House seats and losing none. Other sites like Cook Political rate 17 GOP seats as tossups. Maybe if we all leave comments at the site telling him to update the House races he doesn't project as switching he will move them. But either way, we are close to having it!!

1. Yes, and I saw a couple of posts today that talked about a
poll that rated Dems at 45% approval and the Pubs at something in the low 30's.

3. No chickens have hatched yet.
So I counsel against premature counting. Don't forget that the vote-counting system is seriously compromised country-wide, and the power of the incumbency and the administration is vast. They can easily steal this thing, or even stampede the electorate through the clever application of lies and fear.

We need to keep hammering.

4. enough of the rigged machines
what's with the fatalism? why bother to even run candidates if they can screw up the results. its just not true and an excuse. if thats your excuse for the democrats losing, than they will never win.

5. Oh, no there's plenty of other reasons that Dems lose . . .
But having witnessed two presidential races won by Dems where the victory was stolen by corrupted machines or election officials, I think it's naive to believe that "the will of the people" is the only factor determining who wins and who loses.

9. Stolen, to be precise. In Ohio and Florida, at least . . .
And in California, where Bush was understandably defeated (and where any other outcome would have strained suspension of disbelief to the breaking point), but where the margin of Kerry's victory was shaved to make it look like more of a "mandate" for the boy king.

Between 'Lican secretaries of state jiggering the voting systems, to absentee ballots counted or discarded based on party or location of the voter, to proprietary software produced by Republican diehards, to electronic tabulators that can be hacked remotely by a single individual, a fair counting of votes in the US is a thing of the past.

This issue alone could drive America to the brink of civil war, and must be fixed before there can be any confidence in the legitimacy of any elected official's right to hold his or her post. But since it's clearly 'Lican hands on the secret levers, they're the ones who need watching and purging right now.

11. Excuse me, but which planet have you been living on for the last 5 years?
No, wait, I'm sure the goodhearted, ethical, and generous 'Lican party would neeeever do such a thing.

*****

You can continue to shut your eyes to this thoroughly documented perversion of our electoral system, but you're in for a long string of disappointments if you do. This issue will not go away and must be fixed before any sort of balance can be restored in this country.

6. +11 means we don't take over the House
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 07:23 PM by Awsi Dooger
The need is +15

But that is a good site, albeit seldom updated.

On edit: I see he is updating it more frequently now. I hadn't been there since July when it was maybe one update per 5 days.

Please ignore this story.

There are a million things and of course Bin Laden will be doing his ususal week before the election pep talk for the war hawks.

Ignore this story. Ignore the media. And ignore Bush.

Get out the vote. It is the only thing that matters.

13. I wouldn't
be so sure...

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/060809/9whisper.htm

For some REALLY strange reason (?????) the repugs are fired up over something, maybe the fun of killing innocent civilians by proxy with USA bombs?

88% Repugs approve of der fuhrer

95% say they're almost certain/very likely to vote indicating they're pissed.

It could be a biased poll though... but I'm not counting chickens.

14. I'm cautiously, guardedly optimistic.
Very cautiously. Very guardedly. But I hope that there is at least a faint breeze -- just a wisp, perhaps -- of change in the air.

We are dealing with a vile subtle form of neo-Fascism and they will not relinquish power easily.

You see their insidious reaction to nothing more than a primary of the opposing party. They are so hell-gone mad nuts over the results of a democratic process they can't see straight.

And that was over something that did NOTHING (at the time) to challenge their power. Ned Lamont beating JoeMan should have absolutely no conern to the Republic Party, but alas it does...WHY?

I believe a plan is in play:

-A massive propaganda campaign of the lowest we've ever seen, tying Democrats directly to terrorist organizations. Liberal groups, moveon.org, LaMont, Sheehan, etc. will be tried and convicted in the MSM court of propaganda and provided opinions...On top of that we will have more fear, more scare mongering, more terror alerts, more flag waving...that doesn't even take into account the possibility of certain vulnerable seats being outright fixed.

I don't trust the right-wing Aristocracy as far as I can throw em and I won't believe we can win until I see it...they will win by any means necessary...their exploitative, destructive, hateful, greedy, pathetic way of life is at stake and they will hold onto it for all its worth.
