From DailyKos: Sent yesterday - Donate to RNC or Terrorists will Get You
Since this is a DK exclusive you can head over to that blog to read all of it but make sure you take your puke bag with you. One of DailyKos's readers received a email donation yesterday afternoon, on the SAME day of the potential attacks in London.

Give the Republican National Committee $500 or Terrorists Will Attack You
by Hunter
Thu Aug 10, 2006 at 10:29:29 PM PDT

Via email and jesselee, this is amazing. Within hours of the announcement of the anti-terrorism arrests in the U.K., Rudy Giuliani sent out a fundraising email from the Republican National Committee that read, in part

Today, President Bush faces a similar challenge. In the middle of a war on terror, we need to remain focused on furthering Republican ideas more than ever before. We can't turn back now. <...>

That's why I am emailing to ask you for a favor: will you click here to make a contribution of $500, $250, $100, $50, $35 or $25 to show your strong commitment to our Party and our principles?

1. How can we be in the middle of the war on terror if it's to go on forever?
I can't even express how fed up I am with repubs.

2. As long as we're afraid they can take advantage of us
Fear is a nasty emotion that is easily manipulated by those in power.

And even if it was just coincidence that the email was put together weeks ago to be sent out on August 10th, someone at the RNC should have had the common sense to say "Perhaps we should way a few days because we look like we're capitalizing on today's events"

3. When you know about something well in advance, it gives you
plenty of time to roll out a well-coordinated strategery.
