3. Ummm, okay I'll bite...
so all those people who have been voting him into office for the last 18 years are suddenly antisemites and decide to act on it? What about all of the Jewish people who voted against him, and I'm sure there were quite a few, I guess they're antisemites too? Maybe it's the drugs talking, I don't know.

6. Lieberman was first elected in 1970 to the CT State Senate,
...and so it took the people of Connecticut 36 years to realize that he's Jewish.

11. His name is German for "loverboy". So maybe they thot he was Hasselhoff
Note the subtle differences. Also, Lieberman is less fond of dogs.

8. I care what Rush Limbaugh says. It's from Disney, one of the biggest
...corporations in the world.

He has millions of listeners, and Disney (which owns ABC) should be ashamed to air his garbage.

5. Al Franken ponted out that about half the Jewish voters
...in the primary voted for Ned Lamont.

Franken also just had on Eli Pariser (executive director of MoveOn), who is Jewish, to refute Rush Limbaugh's statemnt that you can find the most anti-semitic stuff on the MoveOn website.

7. Republicans often make clumsy attempts to play the race card
Edited on Fri Aug-11-06 11:39 AM by Bucky
It kind of reminds me of the film I once saw of a gorilla trying to use a handheld calculator. They can mimic what they see people doing, but they lack the cognitive grasp to produce anything worthwhile from their efforts.

Everytime Bush nominates an inexperienced 28 year old black or Hispanic right winger fresh out of law school to a lifetime federal bench post, Republicans get ready to scream "racist" at any Democrats who say this kid is totally unqualified. Snivvly little 18 year old Chaz Parker Bush (or whatever the brat's name was) wrote his letter to the editor saying critics of the war who point out the unworkability of forcing a parliamentary electoral system onto the Iraqis after four decades of dictatorship are simply racist--no other explanation needed.

They don't stop to try and squeeze content into their blather. It's political drive-by shooting. Smack it down and move on.

9. Absent evidence... this charge itself is antisemitic in that...
... it trivializes the term.

What was his 'evidence'?

13. Limbaugh said you can find the most anti-semitic posts
Edited on Fri Aug-11-06 11:43 AM by Eric J in MN
...at MoveOn.org.

However, I just visited their website, and didn't find anything anti-semitic:
http://www.actionforum.com/forum/?forum_id=266

The executive director of MoveOn, Eli Pariser, is Jewish.

UPDATE:

Actually, this post is anti-semtic, but I don't think it's representative:

16. But what does that have to do with the DEM voters of CT....
who nominated and elected Lieberman three times? They suddenly started to resent the fact that he's Jewish?

Saying that some posts on Moveon.org are antisemitic therefore Lieberman lost because of antisemitism is too silly to even dissect.

It's smoke and mirrors. I think the strategy is to create as much division as possible in the DEM ranks which are already relatively rancorous because of Israel-Hezbollah.

19. You're right.
Somebody from somewhere making an anti-semitic post on a MoveOn message-board proves nothing about the voters of Connecticut.

10. So what explains
Lieberman's 30 years of winning? It's not like he was hiding the fact that he was Jewish.

Limpballs must be hitting the oxy again.

12. So if you don't like a Jewish person as an individual you are an
antisemite?

That's almost as good as "If you disagree with Isreal's politics you are an antisemite."...aw who am I kidding, it's better!

20. Yes, but only if they're Republicans or friends of the GOP. Had you said
you hated Al Franken, Limbaugh and the GOP would hand you an award.

14. A very real fear
every time someone pulls the "anti-semitism" card say for Lieberman or Israel it makes life all that much easier for real anti-semites, how because this charge is starting to suffer from the "boy who cried wolf syndrome" and in the future it may be easier for to get away with anti-Semitic acts or "they always say that"

15. Using Limpballs logic
Then the 5 justices of the Supreme Court and Kathleen Harris were also anti-semites because they gave the election to George Bush, rather than Al Gore, whose VP was of course Joe Lieberman.
