PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER REQUESTS FOR AUGUST 10, 2006

This shouldn’t be a problem for the President, because much of his time away from the White House this week was spent on work related matters. In the midst of the many problems he shoulders, we should pray that when he returns to Washington D.C. on Sunday, he can still know special times when he senses the Lord restoring his soul.:o :eyes:
On his latest radio broadcast, the President talked about recent government efforts to secure our nation’s borders. For example, the arrival of National Guard Units has allowed certain Border Patrols to move more agents into “front line” positions. He said border security was the beginning step to overall national change. Pray that additional steps can now be quickly taken, including “comprehensive immigration reform that honors the American tradition of the melting pot by helping newcomers assimilate.”
“Blessed are the peacemakers” said Jesus in his famous Sermon on the Mount. Along with others, our Secretary of State, Condolezza Rice, is attempting to play that role in the present complicated conflict between Israel and the Hezbollah. She certainly doesn’t have an easy task. She is no doubt aware of this even more than we are. The best way we can help out is through our faithful prayer support.
“President Bush telephoned ‘out of the blue’ to see how I was doing.” says 87 year old Billy Graham in the August 14th Newsweek Magazine cover story. And a handwritten letter from Queen Elizabeth arrived in the mail checking in on him. This positive and moving article reminds all Christians that we have been privileged to live at the same time as a modern-day Daniel. We almost owe it to Billy and Ruth to pray faithfully for them as they wrestle with the complications of old age.
