Here is an internal Republican poll.
Our County Democrats received it this weekend and haven't had an opportunity to study it.

It's in PDF so don't try if you don't have Acrobat.

Also, even though we're a rural county in North Georgia we have some pretty savvy political analysts.

It's posted on pro-Republican Rich Galen's website.

1. I see SS Reform did not even make the list.
One question , why is "Republican Base" and "Base" capitalized throughout their document?

7. YOU beat me to posting THIS ONE!
WHEN did ANY Democrat ever say anything about takiing this benefit away?????? I sure never hear that!

I was trying to read between the lines in that memo. I wonder:

Who exactly do they consider THEIR BASE?

What % of the voting public really IS THEIR BASE?

Was this just another rah rah memo?

It's dated August 2nd. What has chaanged in the last 2 wereeks?

It's interesting to read these Pub memos, but I really would like to see the ones they keep internally! That memo mentioned of upset their base was when Dems talked about impeachment, yet THE PUBS took that OUT of their talking points less than a week after they started using it! Something tells me INTERNALLY they found it to be a looser!

12. No, Some Democrats like me want Medicare Part B repealed and replaced.
Edited on Mon Aug-14-06 11:24 AM by liberaldemocrat7
The Medicare Part D has a means test, a coverage gap and on the average only pays 20 percent of a persons medications.

I want to see congress repeal Medicare part D and place the prescription drug benefit in Medicare Part B and cover 80 percent of medication cost, and not charge any extra premiums, no coverage gaps, no means test, no extra deductibles for the year, and no late sign up penalties.

Republicans appear to tell lies based on partial facts.

Yes we want to take away part D and replace it.

We also want to roll back the Part B premium that will go to 98 bux a month in 2007 to 68 dollars a month and to repeal the means testing of medicare Part B!

13. I don't disagree with that, but THAT is not what they're saying.
The GOP is stating that the Dems want to repeal the part D period! THAT's BS, and I don't know of any Dem who's ever proposed that. All I've heard were proposals to FIX the mess the Pubs made with their stupid donut hole BS.

5. Looks like when they frame the issues and question their own
choir, they do pretty well.

What I don't see there is the actual questions that were asked. The framing seems slanted. So not sure what they would plan to do with this data. It just seems to say 'people who voted for * like *, they don't want to hear anything bad about * or the Iraq occupation, they think lawsuits are the reason that health care is costly and of poor quality, blah blah blah....

Personally, I would want to ask the same group:
- Is the occupation of Iraq a drain on resources which could be used to fight the War on Terror?
- How long is too long to wait for the capture of OBL?
- What would you consider to be "victory over the terrorists in Iraq" ?
- Would you rather pay an extra $500/year in taxes or allow gay marriage?
- Does it bother you when B*sh kisses Democratic Senators?
- Does it bother you that the Democratic Senator lost after B*sh kissed him?
- Which party do you blame more for high gasoline costs?

9. What is a "Democrat" position?
These people sound so ignorant when they say it that way. It's a fucking adjective and should be "the Democratic position."

Keep laughing at and then correcting the stupid motherfuckers when they say this.
