On a serious note -- what's up with Stephanie Herseth's hair?
I took a gander at the photo on her campaign web site and barely recognized her. Judging from the photo gallery on her official House site, the new coif made its debut in late February/early March. What can I say, the shag cut just doesn't to it for me.

1. And why do you think Stephanie Herseth is worthy?
And her hair? Vote Democrat, I say, from the little guys to the big ones. Vote Dem!

2. She got elected statewide as a Democrat in South Dakota
That's no easy feat, and it's more than enough to earn instant respect from yours truly. Plus, she's a hottie (or at least was, before this latest tonsorial debacle).

3. the hairstyle looks better in her gallery pics
than on the banner on her homepage. maybe she wanted something not so conservative. i think it looks nice, probably better if she didn't have the bangs though.

is there any chance she can beat Thune in a Senate Race ?

8. Could she beat Thune? Perhaps.
Thune barely beat Daschle, although it's still a big deal to knock off the leader of the opposition.

Both Thune and Herseth are elected state-wide. Herseth actually received more votes than Thune did in 2004, but her race wasn't as competitive.

I'm not sure Herseth would give up what is probably a *relatively* safe seat to run against Thune, especially if the Democrats regain control of the House. Depending on how much she likes Washington, she might be better off running for governor instead.

5. Pickles Envy?
Seriously, the progressive in me thinks that comments on appearance, esp that of women is demeaning, whether its the Bushs, the Kerrys, or Cynthia Mckinney.

The male in me has strong opinions and has a hard time keeping them to himself

does that qualify as dissonance?

9. Thanks. I agree. It's not the meat, it's the motion. Appearance should
not matter at all-motion should.

7. Tell me something meaningful about her, please

Whether or not her hair style "does it for you" surely ain't it, I don't even know what "it" is, in that context.

11. Looking at her voting record and policy positions
She seems like a moderate Republican.
