Cheney returning to Nebraska

BY ROBYNN TYSVER

WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

For the second time this summer, Vice President Dick Cheney is coming to Nebraska.

Cheney will fly into Omaha for a one-day visit Aug. 29 in support of U.S. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry of Lincoln and the Nebraska Republican Party.

He also plans to visit Offutt Air Force Base to thank the troops for their support in the war on terror, said Jennifer Mayfield, a Cheney spokeswoman.

Vice President Dick (Mad Dog) Cheney

Fortenberry is running for his second term against Democrat Maxine Moul, a former lieutenant governor.

Cheney has been active on the campaign trail this year. He has attended 85 events in support of congressional and gubernatorial candidates.

1. It is difficult to believe that there are very many districts
including in Nebraska where his appearance at functions covered by the press would help the Republican candidate.

Of course that is quite a separate issue from his ability to draw donations from extremely rich Republicans.

2. He was born in Lincoln.

President Ford was born in Omaha. Even in the middle of the scandal last year, Bush's Brain packed in a crowd here in Omaha. Ameritrade (Ricketts running for Senate) was the first of three stops. I stayed outside and protested at the first two stops.

3. He was in Montana yesterday...
...he stopped in Whitefish to raise funds for Conrad Burns. 150 people paid $250.00 to listen to him talk for 1/2 an hour. A few paid $2100.00 to have their picture taken with him.

Lot's of rich people have second homes in Whitefish.

...if a few of them flew in for the occasion.

These are the type of folks who insulate themselves from the vast majority of Montanans because, in case you didn't know, most of us are lowlife criminal scum. They live behind gates. They have their own aircraft. Their servants do all their bidding...so they don't have to interact with "us".

When they heard that Darth was coming to town with his security detail they breathed a huge sigh of relief because for at least a couple hours it'd be safe for them to leave their compounds and mingle with their own kind. </sarcasm>

Kind of funny when you think about it: Lot's of regular folks here don't even bother to lock their doors (I've lived in a house that didn't even HAVE a lock on the door)...and these people spend tens of thousands of dollars to protect themselves....
.... ....from us!

In reality, most of the people who paid the $250.00 were probably just the Chamber of Commerce types who's bread gets buttered with Republican cheap labor policies. They showed up to kiss the ring of the Shadow Emperor and rub elbows with the really, really rich. (I've heard that the current CEO of Halliburton has a residence in W-fish).

6. demand an apology from Dead eye Dick
If you aren't on Ted Kenney's mailing list, he's sending a petition to Dickhead, demanding an apology for equating all who voted for Lamont with terrorists. Here's the link: www.tedkennedy.com/page/s/apologize

And here's the message I sent him:

I shouldn't ask a question that I already know the answer to but here it is anyway...Have you no shame? Of course not, but it needs to be asked anyway. I am ten times, no..a million times the patriot you could ever dream of being because I support DEMOCRACY and FREEDOM in this country, not just pay lip service and offer empty platitudes. You, Bush and the rest of you criminal scum should be ashamed of yourselves for destroying everything that EVER made this country great. But as established earlier, you have no shame. But hey, what the halliburton..as long as you can profit from war and fear, what do you care. To use your own words right back at you....FUCK YOU.

See ya in Gitmo kiddies!
